Barbara J. Linton,(born June 27,1952) was a Wisconsin politician and legislator. She served in the Wisconsin State Assembly from 1986 to 1998. [1]
Born in Ashland,Wisconsin,she attended Northland College,and currently lives in High Bridge. She was the Ashland County Board Supervisor from 1984 to 1988. [2] While serving in the State Assembly as a Democrat for 12 years,she later ran unsuccessfully as a Republican.

Ashland County is a county located in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, the population was 16,027. Its county seat is Ashland. The county was formed on March 27, 1860, from La Pointe County. The county partly overlaps with the reservation of the Bad River Band of the Lake Superior Tribe of Chippewa Indians.
Ashland is a city in Ashland and Bayfield counties in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It is the county seat of Ashland County. The city is a port on Lake Superior, near the head of Chequamegon Bay. The population was 7,908 at the 2020 census, all of whom resided in the Ashland County portion of the city. The unpopulated Bayfield County portion is in the city's southwest, bordered by the easternmost part of the Town of Eileen.
Northland College is a private college in Ashland, Wisconsin. Founded as the North Wisconsin Academy in 1892, the college was established in 1906. Originally affiliated with the Congregational Church, the college remains loosely tied to the Congregational Church's descendant, the United Church of Christ. It enrolls 526 full-time undergraduates and employs 60 faculty members and 99 staff members. Northland College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.

The 74th Assembly District of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in northern Wisconsin, the district comprises all of Ashland, Bayfield, Price, and Iron counties, along with southeast Douglas County and parts of northern Sawyer County. It includes the cities of Ashland, Bayfield, Park Falls, and Washburn, and the Bad River and Red Cliff Indian reservations. The district also contains the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, Big Bay State Park, and most of the Chequamegon National Forest, as well as Timms Hill—the highest natural point in the state of Wisconsin. The district is represented by Democrat Beth Meyers, since January 2015.
Nicholas Mills Donaldson was an American lawyer, judge, and pioneer of Wisconsin and Minnesota. He was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly for three terms, representing Fond du Lac County, and served fourteen years as a Minnesota district court judge. He was also the 10th mayor of Owatonna, Minnesota, and the first prosecuting attorney of Ashland County, Ohio.
