History

A post office was established at Basford in 1895, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1901. [2] The town was likely named after Basford, in England. [3]

The Winnebago Reservation of the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska is located in Thurston County, Nebraska, United States. The tribal council offices are located in the town of Winnebago.
