Battlezone is an arcade game released by Stainless Games in 2008. It is an update of Battlezone , the arcade classic vector graphics tank shooter. The game features an update of the game with new gameplay features, as well as a port of the original.

Gameplay

The game features two modes, Evolved and Classic, both feature two difficulty settings Normal and Throttle Monkey.

Evolved

Evolved gameplay is an update of the original game. It features the core mechanics of the classic mode while adding Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Capture the Flag multiplayer modes, 1080i graphics, Dolby 5.1 audio and support for Xbox Live Vision.

Classic

Classic gameplay is unchanged from the original, but Achievements and Leaderboards are added.

Features

The game features 1080i graphics, Dolby 5.1 audio and an online mode to play against 2 - 4 friends in Deathmatch and Capture the Flag modes, and incorporates Xbox Live Vision support enabling players to see their friends during play. [1]

Reception

The game has received generally mixed reviews. Although it was acclaimed for "the gameplay appeal to make it worth a look" and "the additions made by Atari and Stainless give that much more value", [2] others on the other hand called it an awkward update that gets stuck between misplaced reverence for the original and distracting concessions to modern gaming conventions. [3]

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time, released as Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles: Turtles in Time in Europe, is a beat 'em up arcade video game produced by Konami and released in 1991. A sequel to the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade game, it is a scrolling beat 'em up type game based mainly on the 1987 TMNT animated series. Originally an arcade game, Turtles in Time was ported to the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1992 under the title Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time, continuing the numbering from the earlier Turtles games released on the original NES. That same year, a game that borrowed many elements, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist, was released for the Sega Genesis.

<i>Red Baron</i> (1980 video game) 1981 video game

Red Baron is an arcade video game developed by Atari, Inc. and released in 1981. A first-person flight simulator game, the player takes the role of a World War I ace in a biplane fighting on the side of the Allies. The game is named after the nickname of Manfred von Richthofen, German flying ace. The game uses the same monochrome vector graphics and similar hardware as Atari's own Battlezone; both were developed at the same time. Like Battlezone, the player is presented with a first-person view of the action. Both Battlezone and Red Baron use additional hardware, an "Auxiliary" board, to perform the mathematical computations required for simulating a 3D environment.

Xbox Live Arcade (XBLA) is a video game digital distribution service available through the Xbox Games Store, Microsoft's digital sales platform for the Xbox 360. It focused on smaller downloadable games from both major publishers and independent game developers. Titles ranged from classic console and arcade video games, to new games designed from the ground up for the service. Games available through the XBLA service ranged from $5–20 in price, and as of October 2016, there have been 719 Xbox Live Arcade titles released for the Xbox 360. Space Invaders Extreme is a re-vamped incarnation of the classic arcade game Space Invaders. Snoopy Flying Ace is a dogfighting video game based on Charles M. Schulz's Peanuts franchise and developed by Smart Bomb Interactive for the Xbox Live Arcade service on the Xbox 360. It was announced on November 10, 2008 and released on June 2, 2010. An unofficial sequel to the 2006 video game Snoopy vs. the Red Baron, it features a similar World War I setting. Snoopy is tasked with defeating several members of the Flying Circus, a special flight squadron in the Luftstreitkräfte, and its commander, Manfred von Richthofen, also known as the Red Baron.

Prince of Persia Classic is an action, platform video game developed by Gameloft and published by Ubisoft. It is a remake of the original 1989 Prince of Persia game that utilizes the style of graphics introduced in 2003's Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Similarly to the original, players control an unnamed protagonist, the Prince referenced in the title, who must save the imprisoned Princess from the evil Grand Vizier Jaffar, who attempts to conquer the land while her father, the Sultan, is away.
