Beal, Missouri

Beal is an extinct town in southeastern Shannon County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. The GNIS classifies it as a populated place. [1] The community sits above the south bank of the Current River. The Beal State Conservation Area lies adjacent to the south. [2]

A post office called Beal was established in 1922, and remained in operation until 1932. [3] William Beal, an early postmaster, gave the community his last name. [4]

The community was located on Little Shawnee Creek, approximately two miles southeast of Eminence at an elevation of 825 feet. The location is along County Road 507, about midway between Missouri Route 106 to the north and Missouri Route H to the southeast.
