Beardstown is an unincorporated community located entirely within the city limits of Lobelville, Tennessee.
Beardstown was formerly host to an elementary school, post office, and a store. The school was established in 1900, originally housed in a white frame building that was replaced by a modern brick structure with school rooms and a combined gymnasium and cafeteria in 1946. The school closed in 1988 with the consolidation of public schools in Perry County as one of the last one or two teacher community schools left in the state. [2]
In 1864, a skirmish known as the Battle of Beardstown was fought partly in an area currently occupied by a golf course in Beardstown between Confederate and Union forces during the American Civil War. [3]
The 1876 edition of R. L. Polk and Co.'s Tennessee State Gazetteer reported Beardstown as the second largest settlement in Perry County, after Linden. At the time, it had a population of about 100 inhabitants, and was home to three grocers, three blacksmiths, a carpenter's shop, a general store, and a hotel. [4]
Polk County is a county located in the southeastern corner of the U.S. state of Tennessee. As of the 2020 United States census, its population was 17,544. Its county seat is Benton. The county was created on November 28, 1839, from parts of Bradley and McMinn counties, after final removal of most Cherokee from the region that year. The county was named after then-governor James K. Polk. Polk County is included in the Cleveland, Tennessee Metropolitan Area Statistical Area, which is also included in the Chattanooga–Cleveland–Dalton, TN–GA–AL Combined Statistical Area.

Neatsville is an unincorporated community in Adair County, in the U.S. state of Kentucky. It is located at the junction of Kentucky Route 206 and Kentucky Route 76. Its elevation is 705 feet (215 m). For unknown reasons, the town's name was spelled as Neetsville from 1876 until 1886, when the town's post office closed. In its early history from around the 1810s to 1900, Neatsville progressively grew to become a well-established, incorporated town. It has been relocated twice through the years, once due to flooding circa 1900–1902, which decimated the town, and once in the 1960s when the Green River was impounded to make way for the Green River Reservoir.

James Tucker Airport is a county-owned, public-use airport located three nautical miles (6 km) southwest of the central business district of Linden, a town in Perry County, Tennessee, United States. The airport is located on the Atlanta and Memphis sectional charts. Opened in October, 1962, the airport was originally known as Perry County Airport prior to being renamed in honor of a local citizen in 2016. Efforts to bring an airport to Perry County date back to 1946. A group of students from a local high school petitioned the county to construct a public airport after having been introduced to aviation through the donation of a Link Trainer to the school.
