Beatriz Pimentel Dizotti (born 13 April 2000) is a Brazilian swimmer. She represented Brazil at the 2020 Summer Olympics and finished 6th in the 1500m freestyle at the 2022 World Championships. [3]
She competed in the women's 1500 metre freestyle event during the 2020 Summer Olympics, which was the first Olympic Games where women were allowed to compete in the 1500 metre freestyle. [4] [2]
At the 2022 World Aquatics Championships, in Budapest, Hungary, in the Women's 1500 metre freestyle event, she finished sixth with a time of 16:05.25, a new Brazilian record, and the best position ever obtained by a Brazilian in the event. [5]
On 29 October 2022, Dizotti won the silver medal in the short course 1500 metre freestyle at the 2022 FINA Swimming World Cup in Toronto, Canada, finishing in a Brazilian record and personal best time of 15:48.82. [1] One day earlier, she placed tenth in the 400 metre freestyle with a 4:13.89 and ninth in the 200 metre butterfly with a 2:17.11, both in approximately one hour. [6] [7] The following month, on 30 November, she placed fourth in the 800 metre freestyle at the 2022 U.S. Open Swimming Championships, held in Greensboro, United States, with a time of 8:40.10. [8] The next day she finished third in a time of 4:18.24 in the b-final of the 400 metre freestyle. [9] On the fourth and final day, she won the silver medal in the 1500 metre freestyle with a time of 16:18.40. [10]
At the 2023 World Aquatics Championships, in Fukuoka, Japan, she remained among the best in the world, finishing 7th in the Women's 1500 metre freestyle, breaking the Brazilian record at heats, with a time of 16:01.95. [11] [12] She also finished 13th in the Women's 800 metre freestyle. [13]
The World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships is an international swimming championship event organized biennially by World Aquatics for swimmers aged 14–18 years as of the 31st December of the year of the competition. It is usually held on odd years. Prior to 2023, the event was known as the FINA World Junior Swimming Championships and was open to female swimmers aged 14–17 and male swimmers aged 15–18 as of the 31st of December of the year of the competition.
The U.S. Open Swimming Championships, or U.S. Open, is a championship meet organized by USA Swimming which is open to international teams/swimmers. It was first held in 1985, and was held annually in December through 2006. Beginning in 2007, the meet's first-weekend-of-December timing was given over to the resurrected USA Short Course Nationals, and the U.S. Open moved to being held on an as-needed basis. Ashley Grace Twichell is an American competition swimmer who specializes in long-distance freestyle and open-water events. She placed seventh in the 10 kilometer open water swim at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Twichell's age at her Olympic Games debut, 32 years of age, made her the oldest American swimmer first-timer at an Olympic Games since 1908.
Emma Jennifer McKeon, is an Australian competitive swimmer. She is an eight-time world record holder, three current and five former, in relays. Her total career haul of 11 Olympic medals following the 2020 Olympic Games made her Australia's most decorated Olympian and included one gold medal from the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and four gold medals from the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Ahmed Ayoub Hafnaoui is a Tunisian swimmer. He is the African record holder in the long course 400-metre and 1500-metre freestyle, and the short course 800-metre and 1500-metre freestyle events. He competed in the 2020 Summer Olympics, where he won a gold medal in the men's 400-metre freestyle. He ranked No. 16 in the world and was the slowest qualifier for the final race but won Olympic gold with a time of 3:43.36. Hafnaoui was the only Tunisian to win Olympic gold at Tokyo 2020.
