Belqeys Castle (Persian : قلعه بلقیس) is a castle located in Esfarayen County in North Khorasan Province, Iran. The fortress dates back to the Sasanian Empire. [1] [2]
The remains of this ancient city are located 5 kilometers southwest of Esfarayen, [3] on the eastern edge of Joshaghan village, in the northeastern cultural area, the GPS code of the region: 53°57° to 07°58° longitude and 31°36° to 17°37° latitude - The height above sea level in Balqis Castle is 1.202 meters. Starting on 21 September 2022, and progressing into 2023, an earthquake swarm occurred in the Iranian province of West Azerbaijan, close to the city of Khoy near the Turkish border. Due to mainly three events, a total of 3,880 buildings were destroyed and 52,301 others were damaged in Khoy, including nearly 1,000 schools. Three people died and over 3,310 others were injured, almost all of them due to panic and only a few from collapsed houses.
Cheshme Belghais Garden is a Persian garden located in Charam, Iran. This garden was created in 1944. The source of garden water is several springs, four main springs located inside the garden. Alongside the main springs, it has four creeks and many mini springs. There is a large circluar howz inside the garden with radius of 10 meters and depth of 1 meter. There is also a small square howz in the inner garden. Almost all of the garden plants and trees came from the National Botanical Garden of Iran at the time of its creation. In September 29, 2002 it was registered in the Iran National Heritage List with register number 6288.
