Bennetts Bayou

Bennetts Bayou is a stream in the U.S. states of Arkansas and Missouri. [1] The stream source is in Howell County, Missouri, just south of US Route 160 west of Hocomo. The stream flows southwest into Ozark County, Missouri, and under Missouri Route 142 on the east side of Bakersfield. It then flows south through the extreme northwest corner of Fulton County, Arkansas, and into the northwest corner of Baxter County, Arkansas. It continues to the southwest and enters the northeast arm of Norfork Lake to the east of Gamaliel, Arkansas. [2] The similarly named Bennetts River runs subparallel to Bennetts Bayou just to the southeast. [2]

The stream source in Missouri is at 36°36′43″N92°01′11″W / 36.61194°N 92.01972°W / 36.61194; -92.01972 and the river mouth in Arkansas is at 36°26′00″N92°12′57″W / 36.43333°N 92.21583°W / 36.43333; -92.21583 . [1]

Bennetts Bayou has the name of the local Bennett family. [3]

The Katy Trail crosses Cedar Creek just north of its confluence with the Missouri.

Moniteau Creek is a stream in Randolph, Howard and Boone counties in the U.S. state of Missouri. The headwaters of the stream are southwest of Moberly in Randolph County. The stream flows south passing into Howard County in the Rudolph Bennett Conservation Area. The stream flows south-southwest along the eastern part of the county passing under Missouri Route 124 and becomes the boundary between Howard and Boone counties before passing under U. S. Route 40 and entering the Missouri River just south of Rocheport.

Mussel Fork is a stream in Adair, Chariton, Linn, Macon and Sullivan counties in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is a tributary to the Chariton River.

Clear Creek is a stream in Clay and Clinton counties of northwest Missouri. It is a tributary of the Fishing River.

Petite Saline Creek is a stream in Cooper, Moniteau and Morgan counties in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is a tributary of the Missouri River.

Horse Creek is a stream in Barton, Cedar, Dade and Vernon counties in southwest Missouri. It is a tributary of Cedar Creek.

Turnback Creek is a stream in the Ozarks of southwest Missouri. The stream headwaters are in western Christian County just southwest of Billings. The stream flows north-northwest after passing under U.S. Route 60 and on through the extreme southwest corner of Greene County and into Lawrence County. In Lawrence County the stream flows northwest passing under Interstate 44 southwest of Halltown and into southeast Dade County. In Dade County the stream flows generally north and enters the Sac River arm of Stockton Lake at U.S. Route 160 east of Greenfield.

Bennetts River is a stream in northern Arkansas and southern Missouri. The stream source is in Howell County, Missouri southeast of Hocomo on US 160. It flows south to the west of Moody, Missouri and crosses under Missouri Route 142. The stream flows south into Fulton County, Arkansas and turns to a westerly direction northwest of Viola. The stream crosses Arkansas Route 87 just south of Vidette and flows into Baxter County, Arkansas, and on into the northeast arm of Norfork Lake across from the Gamaliel Campground.

Presley Branch is a stream in northern Fulton County, Arkansas and southeastern Howell County, Missouri.

Center Creek is a stream in southwest Missouri.

Plumb Hollow or Plum Hollow is a valley in southeastern Ozark County in the Ozarks of south-central Missouri. The source area for the intermittent stream in the valley lies just west of Missouri Route 101 and it flows south parallel to and passes under Route 101.The stream enters Bennetts Bayou just east of Bakersfield.

Dark Creek is a stream in northwest Randolph, County, Missouri. It is a tributary of the East Fork Little Chariton River. The stream headwaters are just south of the county line to the east of the Thomas Hill Reservoir. The stream flows south to southwest to its confluence just north of U.S. Route 24 between Huntsville and Clifton Hill.

Swan Creek is a stream in the Ozarks of southern Missouri. It is a tributary of the White River downstream from the Lake Taneycomo dam.
