Bettinah Tianah (born Betty Nassali; 10 November 1993) is a Ugandan television personality, actress, model, and fashionista. She is known for hosting television programs like Youth Voice, Be My Date, [1] and The Style Project. She also played a lead role (Rhona) in The Hostel television series.

Career

At the age of 15, Tianah started working at NBS Television as the host of Youth Voice. She later hosted a matchmaking television show called Be My Date [2] [3] in 2015 on NTV Uganda, replacing Anita Fabiola, and has hosted a fashion show called The Style Project from 2017 to March 2022 when she resigned to concentrate on her own business BT Beauty Uganda. [4] [5] Tianah landed her first acting role as Rhona, a "bad girl" on the Ugandan television series The Hostel in its fourth and last season.

Tianah hosted the red carpet event at the UNAA Convention in Washington D.C., becoming the first Ugandan to host the event. [6] She is also a model, having signed with Creative Industries Group in 2017. She held her first photoshoot in Paris. [7]

She later opened up her own company known as BT Beauty Uganda

Personal life

Tianah holds a degree in journalism from Cavendish University. She had earlier enrolled for a degree in Human Resources Management at Makerere University Business School (MUBS), but dropped out to pursue a journalism career. [8]

Prior to hosting the Be my date show on NTV in 2014, Fabiola became Miss Uganda West and the first runner-up in the overall Miss Uganda beauty pageant in 2013. She is also known for hosting some of the Africa's biggest red carpet events. Josephine Karungi, is a Ugandan journalist and television personality who works as a media and communications consultant at the World Bank Uganda, based at their offices in Kampala, Uganda's capital city. Before that, from 1 October 2018 until 30 March 2021, she served as Head of News, at NTV Uganda, in acting capacity. <i>Bed of Thorns</i> Ugandan drama film

Bed of Thorns (#Tosirika) is a Ugandan, all-female crew produced drama film directed by Eleanor Nabwiso and produced at Nabwiso Films. The film addresses the issue of gender based and domestic violence. It stars media personality Malaika Tenshi Nnyanzi, Diana Kahunde, youtuber and social media comedian Martha Kay, Agnes Kebirungi, Michael Wawuyo Jr., Housen Mushema, Sara Kisawuzi and Patrick Salvador Idringi. The film premiered on 30 March 2019 at a red carpet event at Century Cinema Kamwokya, Kampala.

<i>Kyaddala</i> Ugandan television series

Kyaddala is a Ugandan drama television series by Reach a Hand Uganda. The first season was produced by Emmanuel Ikubese Films and Reach a Hand Uganda. Set in a present day high school life, Kyaddala a Luganda word for "It's Real", focuses on real life social issues that affect young people across Africa and their attempts to overcome those issues. The series features actors and actresses from Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, and Nigeria. Kyaddala premiered on 27 September 2019 at Kingdom Kampala.

Agnes Nandutu is a female Ugandan journalist, politician and Minister in charge of Karamoja. In 2020 she participated in the National Resistance Movement Party primaries which she lost to incumbent Woman MP Justin Khainza, and in the 2021 general election, running as an independent, she was elected Women's Representative for Bududa District.
