NTV Uganda is a Ugandan television station under the Nation Media Group , NMG, operating in East Africa. It has been on air since 2006. [1] It is one of the companies owned by Aga Khan IV.

During the Arua elections, NTV Uganda reporter Herbert Zziwa and cameraman Ronald Muwanga were arrested for allegedly inciting violence. [2] It was also banned from covering aerial footage of National Resistance Movement rallies in the 2016 general elections. [3]

In 2020 the media house reached one million followers on Twitter. [4]

According to GeoPoll, together with NBS, they have got higher COVID-19 lockdown viewership. [5]

In 2014, it was alleged that NTV Uganda wanted to buy NBS Television. [6]

He is a member of the Committee on Education & Sports and the Committee on Equal Opportunities in the 10th Parliament of Uganda. He is also the Minister for Sports in the Shadow Cabinet.

The People Power, Our Power movement is a resistance pressure group in Uganda. It is led by Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, also known as Bobi Wine, who is the MP for Kyadondo East constituency. The movement seeks to unite Ugandans on issues such as ending human rights abuse, corruption and redefining the rule of law, with a focus on young Ugandans. The movement was primarily sparked by civil unrest with Yoweri Museveni's extended presidency, after he announced plans to extend his third-longest tenure in Africa by seeking re-election in 2021.

Fun Factory Uganda is a Ugandan entertainment company based in Kampala. It was founded in 2010, with its flagship product being sketch comedy. It also has branched into television shows and event management. FFU's cast are trained at Makerere University School of Liberal and Performing Arts. Their products include Comedicine, U-Turn, and Mizigo Express.

Solomon Serwanjja is a Ugandan investigative journalist and the Executive Director of the African Institute for Investigative Journalism (AIIJ). On 13 July 2021, he resigned from his position as news anchor with NBSTV ending his 13 year career on television. In 2019 Serwanjja was awarded the Komla Dumor Award, an annual award given by the BBC to celebrate African journalists. He holds a master's degree in journalism and communication from Makerere University.

Agnes Nandutu is a Ugandan journalist, politician and Minister in charge of Karamoja. In 2020 she participated in the National Resistance Movement Party primaries which she lost to incumbent Woman MP Justin Khainza, and in the 2021 general election, running as an independent, she was elected Women's Representative for Bududa District.

Joseph Tamale Mirundi is a Ugandan journalist, author and political analyst who appears on the STV political show Sharp Talk with Tamale Mirundi. In 2022, Tamale opened up an online newspaper where he publishes news and information named Kab News. He previously appeared on NBS Television on the One on One show. In 2021, he joined STV Uganda on The Sharp Talk show and Embuga which aired twice a week. He is a former presidential press secretary, and media advisor.

Rukh-Shana Namuyimba is a Ugandan communications specialist. She is a news anchor, and a co-founder of Xfinity Communications Ltd. She initially worked as news anchor at NTV Uganda, before moving to NBS Television.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2021 Ugandan general election</span>

General elections were held in Uganda on 14 January 2021 to elect the President and the Parliament. The Electoral Commission announced Incumbent President Yoweri Museveni, the incumbent ruling since 1986, as the winner with 58.64% of the votes although the U.S. State Department qualified the electoral process as "fundamentally flawed" and Africa Elections Watch said they observed irregularities. The official voter turnout was 57% but is questioned since 409 polling stations have been announced to have 100% voter turnout.

Florence Namayanja is a female Ugandan politician who was district woman representative of Bukoto County East, Masaka District. She was affiliated to the Democratic Party political party and now affiliated to National Unity Platform. In the 11th Parliament, she stood as the Candidate for LC5 Chairperson for Masaka City under the National Unity Platform although she lost the elections. She was the winner of Masaka city mayoral seat after defeating seven candidates including business tycoon, Emmanuel Lwasa with 28,824 votes.

Sheilah Gashumba is a Ugandan media personality, TV host and digital influencer. She formerly hosted NBS After5 an entertainment show on NBS Television and currently, a radio presenter at NRG Uganda and host of DSTV's 'House of Chefs' in South Africa.

Zambaali Bulasio Mukasa is a Ugandan news anchor and media personality. He anchors Luganda news Amasengejje and hosts Barometer (Akasameeme) a Luganda talk show on NBS Television (Uganda).
