Biem Triani Benyamin (born 13 March 1964) is an Indonesian politician and businessman. He was Indonesian senator from Jakarta,known for proposing a judicial review allowing independent candidates to run in regional elections. He also chaired the special committee in the parliament for revising the Jakarta Special Capital Region Government Act. Biem Benyamin is the third son of Benyamin Sueb,Betawi iconic figure. He was later elected into the People's Representative Council in 2014.
Before starting his career in politics,Biem Benyamin was active in advocating the development of Betawi culture including initiating the establishment of Kongres Rakyat Betawi (Indonesian:Betawi People Congress). As a businessman,Biem Benyamin owns a radio station,Bens Radio,which is popular in promoting Betawi culture and traditions. He also founded Etnikom Network,a network between fourteen radio stations in Java and Sumatra which actively promote local cultures. [1]
In 2012,he ran in Jakarta gubernatorial election as vice gubernatorial candidate for independent gubernatorial candidate Faisal Basri.

Fauzi Bowo is an Indonesian politician and diplomat who was the Indonesian Ambassador to Germany from 2013 to 2018. He was the governor of Jakarta between 2007 and 2012 and previously served as deputy governor from 2002 to 2007 under Sutiyoso's governorship.

The Forum Betawi Rempug (FBR) is a Betawi mass organization (ormas) based in Jakarta. The group was established on July 29,2001,by two Betawi kyais Fadloli El Muhir and Lutfi Hakim. The FBR aims to champion the political rights of the Betawi people,an indigenous but marginalized ethnic group based in Jakarta. Today,the FBR has set up over 300 branches in the Jakarta metropolitan area (Jabodetabek) with each at least 100 active memberships.
Forum Komunikasi Anak Betawi,also known as Forkabi,is a mass organization (ormas) of Betawi people based in the Jakarta metropolitan area (Jabodetabek). Founded in 2001,Forkabi has operated as a social organization of lower-class Betawi people who work in the informal sector,notably parking lot inspection. Forkabi also acted as a channel for the Betawi people's political aspirations. Today,Forkabi holds more than 500,000 members across the Jabodetabek region and especially active in East Jakarta as well as the border between South Jakarta and Depok.
The Catholic Church of St. Servatius in Kampung Sawah,Bekasi,West Java is a parish consisting of mostly Catholic Christians from Betawi in the Kampung Sawah area. Betawi culture is still shown by church members through the use of Betawi language and vocabulary which is derived from the Malay language. In Kampung Sawah itself the Betawi culture has survived even though some parts of it have become extinct. One of the Betawi cultural rituals that have survived,although undergoing changes,is bebaritan or what is currently known as the sedekah bumi or earth's Almsgiving. Uniquely,this ritual is currently carried out at the Parish of Santo Servatius Kampung Sawah.
Yapong dance is a Betawi dance,originating from Jakarta,Indonesia. This dance depicts the association of young people created by the artist Bagong Kussudiardja. The Yapong dance was performed for the first time to enliven Jakarta's 450th anniversary event in 1977.
