Collier County is a county in the U.S. state of Florida. As of the 2020 census, its population was 375,752; an increase of 16.9% since the 2010 United States Census. Its county seat is East Naples, where the county offices were moved from Everglades City in 1962.
Lee County is located in southwestern Florida, United States, on the Gulf Coast. As of the 2020 census, its population was 760,822. In 2022, the population was 822,453, making it the eighth-most populous county in the state. The county seat is Fort Myers, with a population of 86,395 as of the 2020 census, and the largest city is Cape Coral, with an estimated 2020 population of 194,016.
Marco Island is a city and barrier island in Collier County, Florida, 20 miles (32 km) south of Naples on the Gulf Coast of the United States. It is the largest barrier island in Southwest Florida's Ten Thousand Islands area, which extends southerly to Cape Sable. Marco Island is home to an affluent beach community with resort amenities.

Picayune Strand State Forest is one of 37 state forests in Florida managed by the Florida Forest Service. The 78,000-acre forest consists primarily of cypress swamps, wet pine flatwoods and wet prairies. The community was founded in 2005 by Ave Maria Development, a partnership of Barron Collier Companies and the Ave Maria Foundation led by Catholic philanthropist Tom Monaghan, founder of Domino's Pizza and Ave Maria University. It is known for its walkable design, outdoor recreation, and Town Center. Early in the development, Monaghan made controversial statements about plans to enforce Catholic culture in the town at the time that it was founded; plans that have been largely abandoned.
Area code 239 is a telephone area code in the North American Numbering Plan (NANP) for a part of Southwestern Florida. The numbering plan area (NPA) includes Lee and Collier counties, small parts of Hendry and Charlotte counties and the Everglades National Park in Mainland Monroe County. The area code was activated for service on March 11, 2002, in an area code split in which the southern half of NPA 941, from North Fort Myers, was renumbered with 239. A permissive dialing period ended on March 10, 2003.
State Road 29 is a state highway that runs north–south through Southwest Florida. A rural road, it runs mostly through uninhabited farmland in its northern half, and along wetlands in its southern half.
State Road 82 is a 29-mile-long east–west highway serving northern Lee and Collier County, Florida. The western terminus is an intersection with Cleveland Avenue in Fort Myers; the eastern terminus is an intersection with SR 29 midway between Immokalee and Felda.

Dade-Collier Training and Transition Airport is a public airport located within the Florida Everglades, 36 miles (58 km) west of the central business district of Miami, in Collier County, Florida, United States. It is owned by Miami-Dade County and operated by the Miami-Dade Aviation Department. The airport is on the Tamiami Trail near the border between Dade and Collier counties in central South Florida.
Copeland is an unincorporated community located in eastern Collier County, Florida, United States. It lies at the junction of State Road 29 and Janes Memorial Scenic Drive. Copeland lies along the western border of the Big Cypress National Preserve, and wedged beside the Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park to the east. The hamlet of Jerome is a few miles to the north, while Carnestown lies a few miles to the south at the intersection of State Road 29 and U.S. Route 41. Copeland is part of the Naples–Marco Island Metropolitan Statistical Area.

A Republican, she has represented the 28th district, which includes Collier, Hendry, and part of Lee County in Southwest Florida, since 2016. She served as Senate Majority Leader from 2018 to 2020 and Senate Rules Chair from 2020 to 2022.

She is a member of the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida from the Panther Clan. Osceola was born and raised in the Everglades. Deep Lake is an uninhabited unincorporated area in Collier County, Florida, United States. It is located between Immokalee and Everglades City along State Route 29. The area is named after Deep Lake, a 90 ft (27 m) deep naturally occurring sinkhole, which is the deepest lake south of Lake Okeechobee.
Corkscrew Regional Ecosystem Watershed (CREW) is a conservation area in Florida covering more than 60,000 acres in Lee County, Florida and Collier County, Florida. It provides habitat for species including the Florida panther, snail kite, bobcat, and wood stork. Public trails are part of the preserve. CREW connects to various protected land areas.
The 2023 Florida wildfire season was series of wildfires that burned throughout the U.S. state of Florida. As of December 3, there were a total of 2,656 wildfires, burning 101,188 acres (158.106 sq mi) across the state.
