Overview

The album marked the fifth consecutive collaboration between Aronofsky and English composer Clint Mansell. Mansell scored the film based on Tchaikovsky's ballet Swan Lake , [2] but with radical changes to the music. [3] Because of the use of Tchaikovsky's music, the score was deemed ineligible to be entered into the 2010 Academy Awards for Best Original Score. [4]

Violinist Tim Fain was featured in performance both on-screen and in the soundtrack of Black Swan , [5] and the film also featured various new pieces of music by English production duo The Chemical Brothers, although they are not featured on the official soundtrack. [6]

Andrew Weisblum is an American film and visual effects editor. He has collaborated frequently with directors Darren Aronofsky and Wes Anderson. Weisblum was nominated for two American Cinema Editors Eddie Awards for Best Edited Animated Feature Film, for his work on Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009) and Isle of Dogs (2018); and two Academy Awards for Best Film Editing, for his work on Black Swan (2010) and Tick, Tick... Boom!.

Last Night (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is the soundtrack to the 2011 film Last Night featuring music composed and produced by Clint Mansell. The album was not made available before its initial United States release, and instead it was published on September 6, 2011 by Milan Records and Warner Classics through audio CD and digital download. Critics praised to the soundtrack, and Mansell was nominated for a World Soundtrack Award for Soundtrack Composer of the Year. The nomination was also for his music for the 2010 films Black Swan and Faster.
