The East of Scotland Football League (EoSFL) is a senior football league based in the east and south-east of Scotland. The league sits at levels 6–9 on the Scottish football league system, acting as a feeder to the Lowland Football League.

Arniston Rangers Football Club are a Scottish football club, based in the town of Gorebridge. Nicknamed "Arni", they were formed in 1878 and presently play their home games at Newbyres Park, which has room for 1,000 spectators. They wear maroon strips (uniforms). Towards the end of the 2022/23 season Arni got young ultras providing a great atmosphere at Newbyres Park. They also achieved promotion to the EOSFL First Division in the 2022/23 Season. Ground problems at Newbyres meant that some home games during the 2008–09 season were played at Musselburgh.

The East Junior Football League, also known as the Edinburgh & District Junior League, the Midlothian Junior League and the Lothians Junior League, was a football league competition operated in Edinburgh, the Lothians and Falkirk under the Scottish Junior Football Association. It had fluctuations in membership and territory but had a continuous operation as the top league in the east of Scotland until a merger in 2002; it existed as the Lothians District for a further four years as a second-tier league before the name was discontinued in 2006.
The 2022–23 SFA South Region Challenge Cup was the 16th edition of the annual knockout cup competition for senior non-league clubs in the central and southern regions of Scotland. The tournament entry increased from 161 to a record 163 teams thanks to additional clubs joining the West of Scotland Football League.
