Barholm Rovers Football Club was an association football club based in Creetown, Dumfries & Galloway.
The club was formed in 1884 and was an original member of the Stewartry Football League based in Kirkcudbrightshire which started in 1894–95. [2] Its stay in the Stewartry League was short-lived [2] as it was replaced by the 6th G.R.V. for the start of the 1896–97 season.
In 1900 Rovers amalgamated with Ellangowan Swifts, a club from Carsluith which had tried (but failed) to join the Scottish Football Association in 1899, [3] but retained the name of Barholm Rovers. [2] This new side won through the Scottish Qualifying Cup in 1902–03 to play in the first round proper of the Scottish Cup. It was drawn away to Dundee, but Rovers failed to honour the fixture and the Taysiders were awarded the tie by a walkover.
The club folded in 1905 but was immediately replaced by a new club, Creetown Rifle Volunteers Football Club, a forerunner to the current South of Scotland Football League club, Creetown. [4]
Rovers played in a number of colour combinations through their short history including black and white, black and amber stripes with navy shorts and eventually maroon. [2]
Rovers played their home games originally at Cassencarrie Park (now known as Castle Cary Park), but after 1894 they moved to Barholm Park in Creetown.

Creetown is a small seaside town in the Stewartry of Kirkcudbright, in Galloway in the Dumfries and Galloway council area in south-west Scotland. Its population is about 750 people. It is situated near the head of Wigtown Bay, 18 miles (29 km) west of Castle Douglas. The town was originally named Ferrytown of Cree as it formed one end of a ferry route that took pilgrims across the River Cree estuary to the shrine of St Ninian at Whithorn. This is why the local football team, formed in 1895, are known as "The Ferrytoun".

Creetown Football Club is a football club based in Creetown in the Dumfries and Galloway area of Scotland. Formed in 1905 as Creetown Rifle Volunteers Football Club, they adopted their present name in 1920. They originally played their home matches at Barholm Park, which had been the ground of Barholm Rovers, who went out of existence in 1905. They now play their home matches at Castlecary Park, which accommodates up to 2,000 spectators. Their strip (uniform) colours are yellow and black.
Dundee Wanderers Football Club was a football club based in Dundee, Scotland. They were formed in 1894 as a result of a merger between two local clubs, Johnstone Wanderers and Strathmore. The club was briefly a member of the Scottish Football League (SFL), playing in Division Two during the 1894–95 season, but after finishing second from bottom of the league they failed re-election. In December 1894 the suffered an all-time record SFL defeat, losing 15–1 to Airdrieonians. Their home ground was Clepington Park.
