Blair Morgan (Born October 9, 1975) is a Canadian former professional motocross and snowmobile racer. He was a member of the Ski-Doo Racing Team and a former snocross racer who was also a member of the Arctic Cat team. [1] He is a multi-time CMRC winner and a 5-time X-Games gold medalist.
Morgan is considered a pioneer in the sport of snocross racing and freestyle and is credited with popularizing rider-forward chassis designs. [2] He won 89 National events and 13 points championships. In 2013, he was inducted into the International Snowmobile Racing Hall of Fame.
Morgan started racing in his early teens in his home province of Saskatchewan. He progressed through to the ranks of Pro, and made his debut on the Canadian National scene in 1993 at Walton Raceway's TransCan GNC. In 1997 he competed in the Nationals as a member of Two Wheel Kawasaki. He won the 250 title the next year but lost the overall crown to Dube.[ citation needed ] He would regain the number one plate in 1999. 2000 marked a year of significant growth for the Canadian Nationals, and Morgan switched to the Blackfoot Honda team. Injury held him to a #7 ranking for the year, but he rebounded in 2001 and battled Jean Sebastien Roy throughout the year. Morgan scored more wins, but the title went to the Quebecer. Morgan won the four-stroke class at the US Open of Supercross that fall, the first win for the Honda CRF450R. In 2002 Morgan again ended with the #2 plate. He started his own Yamaha team for 2003, but an accident at Nanaimo, British Columbia, ruined his season. A series of nagging injuries from both motocross and snocross affected him for the next few years. In 2006, Morgan returned to form with Blackfoot Honda and scored multiple podiums to finish the year 3rd overall behind Dusty Klatt and Roy.
Morgan started racing snocross for Arctic Cat full-time in 1997. His stand-up, high-flying, and aggressive motocross style revolutionized the sport. He claimed most of the race wins and championships for the next several seasons. During the 2001–2002 season, Morgan switched to Ski-Doo. until, in 2003, motocross injuries derailed further title hopes. He raced again in 2004 and was injured in 2005. In June 2008, it was reported that Morgan was "looking for a new ride", making him a free agent.[ citation needed ] In September 2008, Morgan announced his retirement from competition after injuring his spine in a motorcycle accident.
On September 21, 2008, Morgan suffered a fall from his motorcycle during a practice session at the Montreal Supercross. [3] [4] The fall crushed his L4 and L5 vertebrae and severed his spine at the T4 vertebra, paralyzing him from the upper back down. The Canadian Motocross des Nations Team dedicated the year's MXDN race to Morgan.[ citation needed ]
After the initial treatment at a hospital in Montreal, he started rehab in Saskatoon two weeks later. He was interviewed on his rehabilitation in November 2008, where he said, "Hopefully in 10 years I'll be out of that chair -- or sooner, that would be nice."
In January 27, 2018, Morgan returned to competitive racing at the inaugural Adaptive Snow BikeCross event during Winter X Games XXII. [5] [6]
He again participated in the 2019 X Games Para Snow BikeCross event, now formalized. He was in medal contention until the first minute, when he hit an obstacle, and never retained the lead.

The AMA Supercross Championship is an American motorcycle racing series. Founded by the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) in 1974, the AMA Supercross Championship races are held from January through early May. Supercross is a variant of motocross which involves off-road motorcycles on a constructed dirt track consisting of steep jumps and obstacles; the tracks are usually constructed inside a sports stadium. The easy accessibility and comfort of these stadium venues helped supercross surpass off-road motocross as a spectator attraction in the United States by the late 1970s.
Jeremy McGrath is an American former professional motocross and supercross racer. Considered one of the most popular and influential riders in the history of motorcycle racing, McGrath won seven AMA Supercross 250cc championships, one 250cc AMA Motocross championship, two 125cc West championships and a record 72 premier class supercross wins. He was also a two-time FIM Supercross World Champion as well as a two-time Team USA Motocross des Nations winner.
Jean Sebastien Roy, also known as JSR, is a Canadian professional motocross rider and has won five CMRC Canadian National Motocrass Championships dating from 2001-2005.
Richard Joseph Carmichael is an American former professional motocross and stock car racing driver. He competed in the AMA Motocross Championships from 1997 to 2007 and in NASCAR from 2008 to 2011. His unrivaled successes in the sport of motocross earned him the nickname "The GOAT"; standing for Greatest of All Time. He won 15 AMA championships (1st), 10 in Motocross (1st), five in Supercross (2nd); scored 150 wins (1st), 102 in Motocross (1st), 48 in Supercross (4th); had two perfect Motocross seasons; was never beaten in 125 Supercross; and was a five-time winner of the AMA's Rider of the Year award.
Chad Mark Reed is an Australian motocross and supercross racer. He is a two-time AMA Supercross 450cc champion, a one-time AMA Motocross 450cc champion, record holder for the most main event starts in AMA Supercross history with 265 starts, as well as podium finishes with 132.
Jeffrey Ward is a British-American former professional motocross racer, auto racing driver and off-road racer. He won the AMA Motocross Championship five times and the AMA Supercross Championship twice and the Motocross des Nations seven times. After retiring from motorcycle competition, Ward turned to auto racing, finishing in second place at the Indianapolis 500 and winning a race at the Texas Motor Speedway. He then competed in off-road truck racing and rallycross. Ward was inducted into the Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 1999 and, was inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America on 12 August 2006.
Kevin Windham, is an American former professional motocross racer. At 17 he received a full factory ride from Team Yamaha. He has raced for many factory teams and holds several titles, back to back AMA 125 West Supercross Championships in 1996 and 1997, the 2005 Motocross des Nations team championship, and 2nd in points for the 2008 supercross season. In 1999 Windham won the United States Grand Prix of Motocross held at Budd's Creek, Maryland. Despite his longtime status as one of the world's fastest motocross racers, he is yet to win a major National or World Championship. He is better known by the nickname K-Dub on the racing scene. He announced his retirement from racing at the third round of the 2013 Supercross season.
David Bailey is an American former professional motocross racer and current television sports commentator. He was one of the leading American motocross and supercross racers during the 1980s. During his eight-year professional motocross career, Bailey won 30 AMA national race victories and won three motocross national championships. His motorcycle racing career was cut short after a practice crash left him paralyzed just before the start of the 1987 season. After his injury, Bailey began a new career as an expert motocross television commentator.

Ben Townley is a former professional motocross and supercross racer originating from Taupō, New Zealand. He competed in the Motocross World Championships from 2001 to 2005 and in the AMA Motocross Championships from 2006 to 2013. Townley is notable for winning the 2004 MX2 world championship.

Douglas Howard “Doug” Henry is an American former professional motocross racer. He competed in the AMA Motocross Championships from 1988 to 2006. He is a three-time AMA motocross national champion. Henry was inducted into the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 2005.
Marty Smith was an American professional motocross racer. He competed in the AMA Motocross Championships from 1974 to 1981, most prominently as a member of the Honda factory racing team with whom he won 18 AMA race victories and three National Motocross championships. During his formative years of racing, he had no teachers and learned by carefully observing the fast guys, then applying what he saw. Smith said he almost never rode at 100 percent. With his long hair, Southern California surfer looks and smooth riding style, he was a popular figure among race fans and was the first superstar of American motocross. Smith was inducted into the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 2000.
Richard Bernard "Ricky" Johnson Jr. is an American former professional motocross, off-road truck and stock car racer. He competed in AMA motocross and Supercross during the 1980s and, won seven AMA national championships. He later switched to off-road racing. He won the Pro 2WD Trophy Truck championship in the 1998 Championship Off-Road Racing and 2010 TORC Series. He also won the Pro 4WD class at the 2011 and 2012 TORC Series. In September 2012, Johnson won the 4x4 world championship race at Crandon International Off-Road Raceway and later that day won the AMSOIL Cup pitting the two and four wheel drive trucks. Johnson won the 2014 Frozen Rush, the first short-course off-road race on snow.
Gary Jones is an American former professional motocross and desert racer. He competed in the AMA Motocross Championships from 1971 to 1976. Jones is notable for winning the inaugural AMA 250cc motocross national championship in 1972. Jones then successfully defended his national championship in 1973 and 1974, winning three consecutive 250cc motocross national championships while competing on three different brands of motorcycles, a feat which has never been repeated in AMA motocross history. He was inducted into the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 2000.
Snocross is a racing sport involving racing specialized high performance snowmobiles on natural or artificially-made tracks consisting of tight turns, banked corners, steep jumps and obstacles. Riders race at speed of up to 60 miles per hour. Jumps are up to 30 feet tall, so riders travel up to 130 feet before they touch the ground. According to the World Snowmobile Association which governs snocross, watercross, and hillcross racing, snocross is the most popular form of snowmobile racing.
Josh Hansen is an American professional motocross racer, currently riding the no. 100. The son of retired motocross champion Donnie Hansen, he is best known for winning the GOLD medal for Best Whip in Moto X at the Summer X Games for 3 consecutive years. Hansen also won back to back gold medals at X Games 14 and X Games 15 in Los Angeles, California in the Supercross event. Hansen currently serves as a brand ambassador for Honda and is sponsored by Fox Racing and Shift.
James Anseeuw is a Canadian Wheelchair curler. As the oldest Canadian Paralympic athlete, he helped Canada win a bronze medal at the 2018 Winter Paralympics in South Korea.
