Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga (Japanese: 青の祓魔師 京都不浄王篇, Hepburn: Ao no Ekusoshisuto: Kyōto Fujōō-hen) is the second season of the Blue Exorcist anime television series, produced by A-1 Pictures. It is based on the manga series of the same name by Kazue Kato. Koichi Hatsumi replaced Tensai Okamura as series director. The second season aired from January 7 to March 24, 2017, on MBS's Animeism programming block. [1] [2] [3]
The opening theme song is "Itteki no Eikyō" (一滴の影響, lit. "Drop's Influence") performed by Uverworld, while the ending theme song is "Kono te de" (コノ手デ, lit. "With This Hand") performed by Rin Akatsuki. [4]

After his secret is exposed, Rin takes part in a special mission alongside Shura and Yukio to retrieve the "Left Eye of the Impure King", a demon relic that was stolen from the True Cross Academy's vault. In the occasion, they fail to retrieve it, but discover that the culprit is Saburota Todo, one of the exorcists in charge of the vault, that was corrupted upon being possessed by a demon. After hearing that there was an attempt to steal the Left Eye's sister relic, the "Right Eye of the Impure King" in Kyoto, the Order sends a team there to investigate, including Shura, Yukio and the Esquires, who are in conflict after learning the truth about Rin. Note: Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga begins after episode 17 of the first season of the anime series, right at the point where it deviates from the manga (ignoring the anime original scenes of episodes 16 and 17). The Exwires arrive at Kyoto, and Ryuji, Konekomaru and Renzo take the opportunity to reunite with their families, while Rin and the others tend to the Exorcists of the Myoda Sect, who got wounded guarding the Right Eye of the Impure King. In the occasion, Rin meets Ryuji's father, and learns that Ryuji is resentful of him, as despite being the leader of the Myoda Sect, he is not respected by the others, as he relegated his duties since the Sect (which was weakened after losing several of its members on the Blue Night) joined the True Cross Order. Meanwhile, Todo, with the Left Eye of the Impure King replacing his own, contacts his mole inside the Sect, planning another attempt to steal the Right Eye. | |||||||

The Myoda Sect has an emergency meeting to discuss the failed attempt to steal the Right Eye of the Impure King, and discover who among them is the traitor collaborating with Todo. In the occasion, suspicions were raised towards two of the sect's exorcists, Renzo's older brother Juzo and Mamushi as they were present at the scene and were Todo's students in the past, but the head priest, who did not attend the meeting, was counted as a suspect as well, much to Ryuji's anger. Blue Exorcist is a Japanese dark fantasy manga series written and illustrated by Kazue Kato. The story revolves around Rin Okumura, a teenager who discovers that he and his twin brother Yukio are the sons of Satan, born from a human woman, and he is the inheritor of Satan's powers. When Satan kills their guardian, Rin enrolls at True Cross Academy to become an exorcist under Yukio's tutelage in order to defeat Satan.
Attack on Titan is a Japanese dark fantasy anime television series, adapted from the manga series of the same name by Hajime Isayama. The series premiered on April 7, 2013, and concluded on November 5, 2023. It has aired on MBS TV and NHK General TV. In North America, the series has been streamed on Crunchyroll, Funimation and Hulu. Attack on Titan has also aired on Adult Swim's Toonami programming block in the United States.
Twin Star Exorcists is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yoshiaki Sukeno. The manga was serialized in Shueisha's shōnen manga magazine Jump Square from November 2013 to September 2024, with individual chapters collected into thirty-four tankōbon volumes as of July 2024. The story revolves around Rokuro Enmado and Benio Adashino, a pair of young and talented exorcists, who are destined to marry and have a child that will be the ultimate exorcist. The manga series has been licensed for an English language release in North America by Viz Media, publishing the first volume in July 2015.
Fire Force is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Atsushi Ohkubo. It was serialized in Kodansha's shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Magazine from September 2015 to February 2022, with its chapters collected in 34 tankōbon volumes. In North America, the manga has been licensed for English language release by Kodansha USA.
Tales of Zestiria the X is a Japanese anime television series based on both Tales of Zestiria and Tales of Berseria video games developed by Bandai Namco Studios and tri-Crescendo, and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. It is produced by Ufotable, directed by Haruo Sotozaki and written by Hikaru Kondo, featuring character designs by Akira Matsushima and music by Motoi Sakuraba and Go Shiina. The anime series is split into two halves: the first half premiered on July 3, 2016, and finished airing on September 25, 2016. Asami Tano is a Japanese actress from Amagasaki. She is affiliated with Amuse Inc. Tano was part of the girl group Boystyle from 2001 to 2007. Her voice acting career began with Toriko in 2011, and she has starred in several anime such as Smile PreCure, Francesca, Love Live! Sunshine!!, and Zombie Land Saga. She has also appeared in the theatrical productions of Persona 3: The Weird Masquerade, Persona 4 Arena, Blue Exorcist, Kuroko's Basketball, and The Seven Deadly Sins.
The fourth and final season of the Attack on Titan anime television series, titled Attack on Titan: The Final Season, was produced by MAPPA, chief directed by Jun Shishido, and directed by Yuichiro Hayashi, replacing Tetsurō Araki and Masashi Koizuka, respectively. Scriptwriter Hiroshi Seko fully took over the series composition from Yasuko Kobayashi, and Tomohiro Kishi replaced Kyōji Asano as character designer due to the series switching production studios. The season covers the "Marley" and "War for Paradis" arcs from the original manga by Hajime Isayama.
Blue Exorcist is an anime television series based on the manga of the same name by Kazue Kato. The first season is directed by Tensai Okamura and produced by A-1 Pictures. The season began broadcasting in Japan on MBS TV and TBS Television on April 17, 2011, and ended on October 2 of that same year. The series was originally scheduled to start airing on April 10, 2011, however due to the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami, the series' initial broadcast was delayed by a week. The episodes were simulcast with English subtitles online via Hulu, Anime News Network, and Crunchyroll, starting on April 20, 2011. Aniplex of America released Blue Exorcist on DVD in four sets, starting with the first DVD on October 18, 2011.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is a Japanese anime television series based on Koyoharu Gotouge's manga series of the same name. The second season adapts from the 7th volume to the 11th volume of the manga and ran for two continuous cours. The first part, titled Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Mugen Train Arc, is a seven-episode recompilation of the "Mugen Train" arc as featured in the 2020 anime film. It contains new music and an all new anime original episode which takes place immediately before the main story. The first part aired from October 10 to November 28, 2021. The second part, titled Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Entertainment District Arc, aired eleven episodes from December 5, 2021, to February 13, 2022. The season was directed by Haruo Sotozaki, with character designs by Akira Matsushima, and animation produced by Ufotable; staff and cast from the first season and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train also returned.
Kohta Yamamoto is a Japanese composer, arranger and lyricist who has worked on the soundtrack of many anime series. He is best known for composing the soundtrack for Attack on Titan: The Final Season, for which he won the Crunchyroll Anime Award for Best Soundtrack.

Studio VOLN took over from A-1 Pictures as animation producer, with Daisuke Yoshida replacing Koichi Hatsumi as series director. The third season aired from January 7 to March 24, 2024, on Tokyo MX and other networks.
