Robert Bicknell (born November 13, 1969) is an American football coach and former player who is the tight ends coach for the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served as the senior offensive assistant for the New Orleans Saints from 2022 to 2023 and as the wide receivers coach for the Cincinnati Bengals from 2018 to 2020. Bicknell is the son of former Boston College head coach Jack Bicknell and the younger brother of Jack Bicknell, Jr., the current assistant offensive line coach for Wisconsin.
Bicknell played college football at Boston College, where he was a two-year letterman at tight end from 1989 to 1990. [1]
Bicknell began his coaching career at his alma mater Boston College where he would go in to coach safeties in 1993, running backs in 1994 and linebackers in 1995–1997.
Bicknell joined the pro ranks in 1998 as the defensive line coach with the Frankfurt Galaxy of NFL Europe. The following season, he switched to the offensive side of the ball to coach the offensive line. During his two-year tenure in Frankfurt, the Galaxy reached the World Bowl final twice, winning the championship in 1999. During his time in Europe, Bicknell won three consecutive World Bowls as part of the coaching staff of the Frankfurt Galaxy 1999 and the Berlin Thunder 2000–2001. He was the offensive coordinator/offensive line coach for Berlin from 2001 to 2003 and followed it with two years in the same position for the Cologne Centurions.
Bicknell served as the offensive line coach at Temple University in 2006. [2]
Bicknell began coaching in the NFL with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2007 his initially served as the team's assistant offensive line coach before being promoted the next year to offensive line coach. [3] In 2009 he was moved once more, then moving to coach tight ends.
Bicknell was named tight ends coach for the Buffalo Bills on January 27, 2010. [4] Following the departure of former wide receivers coach Stan Hixon to join Penn State's staff under new coach Bill O'Brien, Bicknell was named the Bills wide receivers coach. He was dismissed, along with the entire Bills coaching staff, on December 31, 2012. [5]
Bicknell spent 2013-2015 as the Philadelphia Eagles’s [6] wide receivers coach in under Chip Kelly. During his tenure with the Eagles', their offense set franchise records in points, touchdowns, passing yards, completions and completion percentage.
In 2016 Bicknell followed Kelly to the 49ers [7] after being fired from the Eagles.
Bicknell spent 2017 at Baylor, [8] as a part of Matt Rhule's staff [9] where he served as the team's wide receivers coach. [10] With his help then sophomore Denzel Mims became one of only six WRs from Power Five schools to top 1000 yards.[ citation needed ]
Bicknell was hired by the Cincinnati Bengals as their wide receivers coach on January 8, 2018. [11] [12]
Bicknell missed the team's weeks 10 and 11 games in 2020 against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Football Team due to COVID-19 pandemic protocols. [13] [14]
On March 15, 2022, Bicknell was hired by the New Orleans Saints as their senior offensive assistant. [15] On January 16, 2024, it was announced that Saints head coach Dennis Allen had released three offensive staff members (including Bicknell). [16]
On February 19, 2024, Bicknell was hired by the New England Patriots as their tight ends coach under head coach Jerod Mayo. [17]
Super Bowl XXIII was an American football game between the American Football Conference (AFC) champion Cincinnati Bengals and the National Football Conference (NFC) champion San Francisco 49ers to decide the National Football League (NFL) champion for the 1988 season. The 49ers defeated the Bengals 20–16, winning their third Super Bowl. The game was played on January 22, 1989, at Joe Robbie Stadium in Miami. This was the first Super Bowl hosted in the Miami area in 10 years, and the first in Miami not held at the Orange Bowl.

Troy McHenry Walters is an American football coach and former player who is the wide receivers coach for the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League (NFL). Walters played as a wide receiver and punt returner in the National Football League (NFL) for eight seasons. Walters played college football for the Stanford Cardinal, earning consensus All-American honors and winning the Fred Biletnikoff Award as the season's outstanding college football receiver. He was selected in the fifth round of the 2000 NFL draft by the Minnesota Vikings, and also played for the Indianapolis Colts, Arizona Cardinals and Detroit Lions of the NFL.
Rick Steven Dennison is an American football coach and former linebacker who is currently the senior offensive assistant for the New Orleans Saints. He was the offensive line coach and run game coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL) from 2019 to 2020. An assistant in the NFL since 1995, he served as offensive coordinator for the Denver Broncos, Houston Texans (2010–2013), and Buffalo Bills (2017), and served as quarterbacks coach for the Baltimore Ravens in 2014. He was the special teams coach for the Super Bowl Champion Broncos in 1997 and 1998. A linebacker who spent his entire NFL playing career in Denver from 1982 to 1990, he appeared in Super Bowls XXI, XXII, and XXIV.

Glades Central Community High School is a high school in Belle Glade, Florida. In the 2014–15 school year its enrollment numbered 992 students. The school was a football powerhouse. In 2001, the New York Times reported that Glades Central had produced more current National Football League players than any other high school in the country with 7 during the 2001 season. The school has a football rivalry with fellow powerhouse Pahokee High School.

Benjamin Lee McAdoo is an American football coach who is currently serving as a senior offensive assistant of the New England Patriots in the National Football League (NFL). McAdoo was most notably the head coach of the New York Giants from 2016 to 2017, after serving as their offensive coordinator the previous two years under former head coach Tom Coughlin. He was fired from that position on December 4, 2017 following a 2–10 start, along with benching longtime starting quarterback Eli Manning. At the time of his termination, his 28 regular season games were the fewest by a Giants coach since 1930. Prior to working for the Patriots, McAdoo had also served as an assistant coach for several college football teams, as well as for the New Orleans Saints, the San Francisco 49ers, Green Bay Packers, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Carolina Panthers.
Jack Bicknell Jr. is an American football coach who is currently the offensive line coach at West Virginia University. He was the head football coach at Louisiana Tech University from 1999 to 2006, compiling a record of 43–52 in eight seasons. He then served as assistant head coach and offensive line coach for Boston College for two seasons, before becoming the assistant offensive line coach for the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL) in January 2008. Bicknell spent the 2013 season as offensive line coach for the NFL's Pittsburgh Steelers before being fired on January 3, 2014. He worked as an assistant coach with the Miami Dolphins in 2014 and 2015. He then returned to the college ranks, coaching at Ole Miss from 2017 to 2019, Auburn in 2020, Louisville in 2021, North Carolina in 2022, and is currently coaching offensive line at Wisconsin. Bicknell is the son of former Boston College head coach Jack Bicknell and the older brother of Bob Bicknell, who was most recently wide receivers coach for the Cincinnati Bengals and the senior offensive assistant for the New Orleans Saints.
Edward Charles Foley Jr. is an American football coach and former player. He was the assistant special teams coach for the Carolina Panthers from 2020 until mid-2022, working under head coach Matt Rhule, who he had previously worked with at Temple University. Prior to coaching the Panthers, Foley primarily coached college football, including head coach positions at Fordham University and Temple University.
John Morgan Garrett is an American football coach and former wide receiver. He is the former head football coach at Lafayette College, a position he assumed December 21, 2016 after spending one season as the offensive coordinator for the University of Richmond. He was also the head football coach for Temple University from 2013 to 2016, Baylor University from 2017 to 2019, and the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League (NFL). Rhule played linebacker at Penn State from 1994 to 1997.

He was a passing game coordinator and wide receiver coach for the LSU Tigers during the 2019 season, winning the Broyles Award for the best assistant coach in college football, and an offensive assistant for the New Orleans Saints from 2017 to 2018.
