Rob Herkes (born 30 June 1957) is a former English cricketer. Herkes was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm fast medium pace. He was born at Lincoln,Lincolnshire.
Herkes made his debut in county cricket for Lincolnshire against the Lancashire Second XI in 1977. He made eight further appearances for the county in what would be his only season with his home county. [1] The following season he joined Middlesex,making his first-class debut for the county in that season against the Marylebone Cricket Club at Lord's. He made two further first-class appearances for the county,both in the 1979 County Championship against Sussex and Worcestershire. [2] Herkes failed to score any runs in first-class cricket, [3] while in his primary role as a bowler,he took 6 wickets at an average of 15.50. [4] All of these wickets came in a single innings against Worcestershire. [5] Herkes also played List A cricket for Middlesex,making his debut in that format against Leicestershire in the 1978 John Player League. He made two further appearances in that format,both in the 1979 John Player League against Essex and Sussex. [6] He took just 2 wickets in his three appearances,at an average of 54.00,with best figures of 2/18. [7] He left Middlesex following the 1979 season.
James Andrew Tomlinson is an English former cricketer. A left-arm medium pace bowler,capable of producing swing at a brisk pace,Tomlinson first appeared in senior cricket for the Hampshire Cricket Board in List A cricket in the 2000 NatWest Trophy. He first appeared for Hampshire in first-class cricket in 2002,at this stage of career he had to work his cricket career around his studies at Cardiff University. In 2003 he was Hampshire's recipient of the NBC Denis Compton Award. His early career with Hampshire was beset by injury,which limited his appearances. By 2008,Tomlinson had established himself in the Hampshire team,mostly as a specialist first-class player. It was in this season that he became the first Hampshire bowler since Malcolm Marshall to end the season as the leading wicket taker in the County Championship,finishing with 67 wickets.
Robert George Mallaby Carter,known as Bob,is a former English cricketer who played first-class and List A cricket for Worcestershire. He was capped by the county in 1965,and was awarded a benefit season in 1973,which raised about £7,000. All but two of his 523 first-class wickets came for Worcestershire;the others were obtained for Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) in the very last game of his career. Carter’s batting was generally extremely poor,as evidenced by his career batting average of under five in both forms of the game,although he did play one significant –if ultimately fruitless –innings. In the 1963 Gillette Cup final against Sussex at Lord's,he came to the wicket with Worcestershire 133/9,needing 35 runs to win. In fading light,he and wicket-keeper Roy Booth added 21 before Carter was run out to end the match. Carter also played in a critical close finish the following season against Nottinghamshire,where he and Flavell managed to get home by a single wicket and virtually seal the county’s first Championship title.
Derbyshire County Cricket Club in 1997 was the cricket season when the English club Derbyshire had been playing for one hundred and twenty-six years. In the County Championship,they won two matches to finish sixteenth in their ninety fourth season in the Championship. They came fourteenth in the AXA Life League and did not progress from the group in the National Westminster Bank Trophy. They reached the semi-final of the Benson &Hedges Cup.

Norman Michael McVicker was an English cricketer. Having failed to establish himself with either Lancashire or Derbyshire,where he had trialled,McVicker initially played county cricket at minor counties cricket level for Lincolnshire. His performances in minor counties cricket were noticed by Warwickshire,who signed him at the age of 28 in 1969. He played five seasons with Warwickshire,winning the 1972 County Championship and taking 300 first-class wickets. He was released by Warwickshire at the end of the 1973 season and subsequently played for Leicestershire for three seasons from 1974–1976,winning both the County Championship and Benson &Hedges Cup in 1975. He retired at the end of the 1976 season,but came out of retirement in 1977 to play one-day cricket for Leicestershire,before retiring again at the end of that season.
