Borteyman is a community in the Kpone Katamanso district in the Greater Accra region of Ghana. [1] [2] [3] [4]

Facilities

Sports complex

It is the location of the $145 million sports complex which would be used for the 2023 African Games which is known as the Borteyman Sports Complex. [5] [6] The sports complex has the following facilities: 400-metre 6-lane athletics warm-up track with playing field for football; Washrooms for male and female; spectators stand for about 500 people; A thousand-seater competition swimming pool, collapsible to five hundred (500) seater. 8-lane competition swimming; 8-Lane warm-up swimming Pool; five hundred seater (500) temporary dome (handball, judo, karate, taekwondo, etc.); a thousand-seater (1,000) multi-purpose sports hall (badminton, boxing, volleyball, weightlifting, etc.); five (5) tennis courts complex which includes a thousand-seater (1,000) center court covered spectator stand with a VVIP viewing stand) and space for children's playground. [7] Nana Akufo-Addo cut the sod for the commencement for the construction of the sports complex. [8] [9] [10]

Housing project

It is also the location of the affordable housing project by the State Housing Company Limited which consists of five blocks with 72 units. [11]

Samuel Kofi Ahiave Dzamesi is a Ghanaian politician who is chief executive of the Bui Power Authority since August 2021. A member of the New Patriotic Party, he was Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs in Ghana from 2017 to 2021 in the Akufo-Addo administration and has been Regional Minister for the Volta Region from 2005 to 2008 under the John Kufour administration.

The Oti Region is one of the six newly created regions of Ghana in December 2018. The region was carved out of the Volta Region and will be in fulfillment of a campaign promise made by New Patriotic Party. Prior to the 2016 Ghanaian general election, the then candidate Nana Akufo-Addo declared that when elected, he would explore the possibility of creating new regions out of some of the existing regions in Ghana in order to bring government closer to citizens. The Region was inaugurated on May 14, 2019. It has Dambai as its Regional Capital. The 13th African Games, also known as Accra 2023, were hosted by Ghana from 8–23 March 2024. Despite having Accra as the main host city, the games were held in two sub-host cities: Kumasi and Cape Coast. The games were initially planned to be held in August 2023, however a failure to complete facilities on time and arguments over marketing revenue resulted in the games being delayed to March 2024.

The Pokuase Interchange is a four level stack interchange situated at Pokuase Junction, in Accra, Ghana. It is the largest interchange in West Africa upon its completion. The interchange was originally a three-tier as proposed by the John Dramani Mahama in 2016 but was modified on the advice of the constructor by the Akufo-Addo administration to a four-tier thereby making it the largest in West Africa. Construction began in 2018 and was commissioned for use on 9 July 2021 by president Nana Akuffo Addo. It lies on the Nsawam Road and connects the Nsawam Road to the George Walker Bush Highway.

Borteyman Sports Complex is a multidisciplinary sport center located in Borteyman, a suburb of Accra, Ghana. It was commissioned by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, the President of Ghana on February 13, 2024 ahead of the 13th Africa Games to be hosted in Ghana.
