Jason "Boudreaux" Byron Campbell Jr. (born August 15, 1998) is an American professional rodeo cowboy who specializes in bull riding. He competes in the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) and Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) circuits. He also competed in the now-defunct Championship Bull Riding (CBR) organization. In 2022 and 2023, he rode for the Carolina Cowboys during the PBR Team Series season. As of 2024, he rides for the Missouri Thunder.

Early and personal life

Campbell was born in The Woodlands, Texas. As an infant, his father gave him the nickname "Boudreaux" and it stuck. According to Campbell, it is very rare for people to refer to him by his birth name, Jason. When he was 12, he and his family moved to Crockett, Texas. [1] He went to Lovelady High School. [2] He was four years old when he started mutton busting. He won the Texas junior and high school state bull riding championships. He also enjoys heeling as a team roper. [3]

Career

Campbell was the year-end bull riding champion for the semi-professional Cowboys Professional Rodeo Association (CPRA) in 2015 and 2016. [4] He then turned professional the following year. He qualified for the CBR World Finals during its final two years in 2017 and 2018. He was the 2017 PRCA Bull Riding Rookie of the Year and qualified for the PRCA's National Finals Rodeo from 2017 to 2021. He was also the 2020 PRCA Xtreme Bulls tour champion. In 2020, Campbell qualified for the PBR World Finals and scored the most points at the event, clinching both the PBR World Finals event average and the 2020 PBR Rookie of the Year title. [5] [6] [7] He won the 2021 PBR Velocity Tour Finals event and again qualified for the PBR World Finals that year. [8]

The day after the conclusion of the 2022 PBR World Finals, the inaugural PBR Team Series draft was held at Texas Live! in Arlington, Texas. Campbell was selected to ride for the Carolina Cowboys. [9] The Cowboys won the fifth event of the 2022 PBR Team Series season at Gambler Days in Austin, Texas; the hometown event of rival team, the Austin Gamblers. [10] The Cowboys were eliminated after the second day of the Team Series Championship at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. [11]

Campbell again qualified for the PBR World Finals in 2023.

The Carolina Cowboys were eliminated after the first day of the 2023 PBR Team Series Championship. [12]

In early 2024, before the start of the PBR Team Series season in the summer, Campbell was traded to the Missouri Thunder. [13]

Campbell qualified for his fourth PBR World Finals in 2024.

Cody Lambert is an American former professional rodeo cowboy. He specialized in saddle bronc riding and bull riding. He was also a co-founder and vice president of the Professional Bull Riders (PBR). He created the protective vest that professional bull riders have been required to wear for many years, after witnessing the death of his friend, Lane Frost at the Cheyenne Frontier Days rodeo in Cheyenne, Wyoming, on July 30, 1989. Since 2022, Lambert has been the head coach of the Texas Rattlers during the PBR Teams Series season.

Richard Neale "Tuff" Hedeman is an American former professional rodeo cowboy who specializes in bull riding. He won the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) bull riding world championship three times, as well as the 1995 Professional Bull Riders (PBR) world championship. He also won the 1993 world championship for the now-defunct Bull Riders Only (BRO) organization. He is also one of the co-founders of the PBR and is known for having been one of rodeo icon Lane Frost's closest friends. He and the infamous bucking bull, Bodacious, had a few historic clashes. He later served as the President of the PBR and then the President and Ambassador of Championship Bull Riding (CBR). In 2018, he formed his own bull riding organization: the Tuff Hedeman Bull Riding Tour (THBRT).

He then competed in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), Championship Bull Riding (CBR), and Tuff Hedeman Bull Riding Tour (THBR) circuits, but later mainly rode in regional semi-professional bull riding organizations for the next five years. In the summer of 2022, he announced on his Instagram page his return to the PBR. He would ride sporadically in the PBR in 2022 and 2023 before returning to the semi-pro circuit in 2024.

James Carroll Sharp is an American former professional rodeo cowboy who specialized in bull riding. In 1988, he became the first bull rider in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA)'s National Finals Rodeo history to successfully ride each of his 10 bulls during the champion-crowning event. The record-breaking performance earned Sharp his first of two PRCA World Champion Bull Rider titles. He rode professionally for nearly 20 years, and was a co-founder of the Professional Bull Riders (PBR). He is considered among the most talented bull riders in history.

James William Harris, known as J.W. Harris is an American former professional rodeo cowboy who specialized in bull riding. He competed on the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), Championship Bull Riding (CBR), and Professional Bull Riders (PBR) circuits. He won the PRCA bull riding world championship four times at the National Finals Rodeo (NFR). Harris is the first bull rider since Don Gay to win four PRCA world bull riding titles. He is also the first since Gay to win three of them consecutively. Harris was also the 2014 PBR Rookie of the Year. In 2022, he was inducted into the Bull Riding Hall of Fame.

Jess Lockwood is an American professional rodeo cowboy who specializes in bull riding. He competed in the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) circuit from 2015 to 2024. He was the PBR Rookie of the Year in 2016. On November 5, 2017, he became the youngest PBR World Champion. He won his second PBR world championship on November 10, 2019; becoming the youngest bull rider to win two PBR world championships. As of 2025, he competes full-time in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA).

Jerome Carson Davis is an American former professional rodeo cowboy who specialized in bull riding. He competed in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), in which he won the 1995 PRCA bull riding world championship. He also competed in the Bull Riders Only (BRO) and Professional Bull Riders (PBR) circuits; the latter of which he was one of the founding members.

Cody Snyder is a Canadian former professional rodeo cowboy who specialized in bull riding. He is currently a bull-riding event producer. In 1983, Snyder became the first Canadian to win the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) bull riding world championship. He holds the highest-scored bull ride in the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association (CPRA), scoring 95 points in 1983. He is an inductee of the Canadian Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame, Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Ring of Honor, Alberta Sports Hall of Fame and the Bull Riding Hall of Fame. Since his athletic retirement in 1993, Snyder has produced over 400 bull-riding events under his company Bullbustin' Inc. He has also appeared as a colour commentator for televised rodeo events including the Calgary Stampede.

Glen Keeley was a Canadian professional rodeo cowboy who specialized in bull riding. He competed on the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association (CPRA), Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), Bull Riders Only (BRO), and Professional Bull Riders (PBR) circuits. He won the CPRA national bull riding championship in 1989.
