Box Cricket League - Punjab (BCL Punjab) is an Indian televised sports reality entertainment show contested annually by teams representing various cities of Punjab, India. It is an indoor, unisex league, where the team players are celebrities from the film, music and television industries.

Contents

Concept

The concept of BCL - Punjab concept is similar to the concept of box cricket which is a 10 over format cricket match played with a soft ball.

Telecast

The first season of BCL Punjab will be telecast from 28 May 2016 on PTC Punjabi, PTC Chakde, and 9X Tashan channel. The television programme will show each of the matches in an episodic manner. Besides the matches, the episodes will show the players' preparations, the discussions in the players' dressing rooms, as well as it will mix a lot of fun and entertainment in the form of games, contests and dance performances. In this league the girls are not mere cheer leaders but would also be a part of the team playing along with the male players.

Owner

The league is owned by Mr. Sumit Dutt [1] (Director of Leostride Entertainment [2] Pvt. Ltd. and Xamm Telemedia Works Pvt. Ltd.). He bought the franchise of the league from Marinating Films [3] in 2015.

BCL Punjab Teams

There are five teams in the Box Cricket League, each representing cities in Punjab.

Season 1 of BCL was won by the Ambersariye Hawks.

Christopher Newman is the coach of the Box Hill Hawks in the Victorian Football League and a former player with the Richmond Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was drafted at pick 55 in the 2000 national draft from the Dandenong Stingrays in the TAC Cup. Newman grew up in the Melbourne suburb of Narre Warren where his neighbour and childhood friend was former AFL player Brendan Fevola. Newman led Box Hill to a VFL premiership in 2018 and formerly served as an assistant coach at Hawthorn in 2016.

Group 10 is a rugby league competition in the Central West area of New South Wales, under the auspices of the New South Wales Rugby League. It had been under the control of Country Rugby League but that changed after the NSWRL agreed to a new constitution and the CRL voted to wind up its affairs immediately. The decisions was made on 19 October 2019 and the merger means that the aim of a unified administration of the sport in NSW was achieved over a year ahead of time.

Punjab Kings (PBKS), formerly Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), is a professional franchise cricket team based in Mullanpur, Mohali, Punjab, that plays in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
