The Breaka Burleigh Pro is a surfing competition which has been held annually since 2010 in February at Burleigh Heads, Queensland, Australia. [1] It is sponsored by Breaka Flavoured Milk. [2] It features an Association of Surfing Professionals 6-Star rated Women's event and a 4-Star Men's event. [3]

In the 2010 Men's event, Taj Burrow took the championship, [4] and he won again in 2011. [5] Julian Wilson won in 2012. [6] Owen Wright won it in 2013

In the 2013 Women's event, the first year an event was offered for women, the winner was 22-year-old Sally Fitzgibbons. [7]

Irons began surfing with his brother Bruce on the shallow and dangerous waves of Kauai, Hawaii, before being spotted by a local surfboard brand and flown to North Shore, Oahu, Hawaii to compete and develop their skill. World Surf League Governing body for professional surfers

The World Surf League (WSL) is the governing body for professional surfers and is dedicated to showcasing the world's best talent in a variety of progressive formats. The World Surf League was originally known as the International Professional Surfing founded by Fred Hemmings and Randy Rarick in 1976. IPS created the first world circuit of pro surfing events. In 1983 the Association of Surfing Pros took over management of the world circuit. In 2013, the ASP was acquired by ZoSea, backed by Paul Speaker, Terry Hardy, and Dirk Ziff. At the start of the 2015 season, the ASP changed its name to the World Surf League (WSL). Sophie Goldschmidt was appointed as WSL CEO on July 19, 2017. Paul Speaker had stepped down as CEO on January 11, 2017, and Dirk Ziff acted as the interim WSL CEO until Goldschmidt's appointment.

Taj Burrow is an Australian retired professional surfer. Taj retired from the ASP World Tour in June 2016.

Mick Fanning Australian surfer

Michael Eugene Fanning, nicknamed "White Lightning" is a former Australian professional surfer. Fanning won the 2007, 2009 and 2013 ASP World Tour. In 2015 he survived a shark attack with what is suspected to be a great white shark during the J-Bay Open finals in Jeffreys Bay, South Africa.

The Rip Curl Pro, formerly the Bells Beach Surf Classic, is a WSL World Tour surfing competition held in and around Torquay, Victoria and sponsored by surf company Rip Curl. The event is based at Bells Beach, Victoria, Australia. The event winner is awarded the prestigious 'Bell' trophy.
