Chantal Groot is a butterfly and freestyle swimmer from the Netherlands, who has represented her country in many international championships since 1999. The best distance of Chantal Groot is the 50 m butterfly in which she won five European LC Championships medals, for the first time in 1999 in Istanbul, and became European Champion in 2008 in Eindhoven.
Sarah Fredrika Sjöström is a Swedish competitive swimmer specialising in the sprint freestyle and butterfly events. She is the current world record holder in the 50 metre freestyle, the 100 metre freestyle, the 50 metre butterfly and the 100 metre butterfly. She is a former world record holder in the 50 metre freestyle, 100 metre freestyle, 100 metre butterfly, 200 metre freestyle, and the 4×50 metre medley relay. She is the first Swedish woman to win an Olympic gold medal in swimming. She won the Overall Swimming World Cup in 2017 and 2018. In 2022, she became the first swimmer representing a country in Europe to win 10 individual World Championships gold medals. She currently represents Energy Standard in the International Swimming League.
Yuliya Andreyevna Yefimova is a Russian competitive swimmer. She is the Russian record holder in the 200 metre individual medley, 50 metre breaststroke, 100 metre breaststroke, and 200 metre breaststroke. After making her Olympic debut in 2008, she went on to win the bronze medal in the 200 metre breaststroke in 2012, and silver medals in the 100 metre and 200 metre breaststroke in 2016. She is a six-time World Champion, winning the 50 metre breaststroke in 2009 and 2013, the 100 metre breaststroke in 2015, and the 200 metre breaststroke in 2013, 2017, and 2019. In 2019, she became the first woman to win the 200 metre breaststroke at a FINA World Aquatics Championships three times. She is a former world record holder in the long course 50 metre breaststroke. She has won 109 medals, including 48 gold medals, at Swimming World Cups.
The swimming events of the 2001 World Aquatics Championships were held in a temporary pool at Marine Messe in Fukuoka, Japan in July 2001. This edition of the championships featured 20 events for both men and women, including the introduction of a 50 m event in all strokes and equality in the distance freestyle events, with both men and women swimming both 800 and 1500 m.

Andrea Eife is a German former swimmer who competed in the 1972 Summer Olympics. She won a silver medal in the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay and finished fifth and sixth in the individual 200 m and 100 m freestyle events, respectively. At the 1973 World Aquatics Championships, she won a bronze medal in the 200 m freestyle and a gold medal in the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay, breaking the world record. The next year, she repeated these medal achievements at the 1974 European Aquatics Championships.

In the 10 kilometre open water swim, he is a 2022 world and 2020 European champion. In the 5 kilometre open water swim, he is a two-time European champion.
Andrea Hübner is a retired German swimmer who won two gold medals at the 1973 World Aquatics Championships, breaking world records in the 200 m medley and 4 × 100 m freestyle relay events. She also won a gold and a silver medal at the 1974 European Aquatics Championships. She is a sister of the former professional track cyclist Michael Hübner.
Larisa Veniaminovna Gorchakova is a Russian backstroke swimmer, who won a bronze medal at the 1982 World Aquatics Championships and three medals at the 1981 European Aquatics Championships. She also competed at the 1980 Summer Olympics and finished sixth in the 100 m and eights in the 200 m backstroke events. Between 1981 and 1984, she won five national titles (USSR).
Karla Linke is a retired German swimmer who won the 200 m breastroke event at the 1974 European Aquatics Championships, breaking the world record twice in the process. The following year, she collected two medals at the 1975 World Aquatics Championships: a silver in the 400 m medley and a bronze in the 200 m breaststroke. He is the world record holder in the short course 100 metre breaststroke and a former world record holder in the short course 50 metre breaststroke. At the 2018 World Championships he won two silver medals, one each in the 100 metre breaststroke and the 50 metre breaststroke. He won two gold medals, one in the 50 metre breaststroke and one in the 200 metre breaststroke, and a silver medal, in the 100 metre breaststroke, at the 2021 European Short Course Championships. At the 2021 World Short Course Championships he won the gold medal in the 100 metre breaststroke.

Thomas Ceccon is an Italian swimmer. He is a world record holder in the long course 100 metre backstroke and the short course 4×100 metre freestyle relay. He is also the Italian record holder in the long course 50 metre backstroke and 50 metre butterfly. He is the 2022 World champion in the 100 metre backstroke and 2022 European champion in the 100 metre backstroke and 50 metre butterfly. In the 100 metre individual medley, he won the gold medal at the 2022 World Short Course Championships and the bronze medal at the 2021 World Short Course Championships. At the 2020 Summer Olympics, he won a silver medal in 4×100 metre freestyle relay, a bronze medal in the 4×100 metre medley relay, placed fourth in the 100 metre bacsktroke, and placed twelfth in the 100 metre freestyle.
Lana Pudar is a Bosnian competitive swimmer specializing in the butterfly events. She won a gold medal in the women's 200 m butterfly and a bronze medal in the women's 100 m butterfly at the 2022 European Aquatics Championships, a bronze medal in the women's 200 m butterfly at the 2021 FINA World Swimming Championships, and she competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She is the national record holder in all six butterfly events, and a Mediterranean games record holder in the 100 m women's butterfly event.
