Shannon Rowbury is an American middle-distance runner from San Francisco, California. After competing collegiately for Duke University, she turned professional in 2007. Rowbury has represented the United States at the 2008, 2012, and 2016 Summer Olympics. She also represented the United States at the World Championships in 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017, winning the bronze medal in the 1500 meters in 2009. In 2015, Rowbury helped set the world record with the U.S. team for the distance medley relay event, and set a then-American record for 1500 meters on July 17, 2015, breaking Mary Slaney's 32 year-old mark with a time of 3:56.29.
Cate Natalie Campbell, is a Malawi-born Australian competitive swimmer, and a current multiple world record holder, who won two bronze medals at the 2008 Summer Olympics, a gold medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics, a gold and a silver medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics and a gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She is the current world record holder in the Long Course 4 x 100 m Freestyle Relay with Team Australia and the short course 100 m freestyle. Campbell was one of the flagbearers for Australia at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics alongside basketball player Patty Mills.

At the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, he competed in the men's 100 metre breaststroke, finishing 12th in the semifinals and failing to qualify for the final. He competed as part of the 4 x 100 medley relay team during the heats, helping the German team to qualify for the final where they finished in 7th place.

She was a member of the women's 4 x 200 metre freestyle relay team which finished 12th in the heats and did not qualify for the final. At both of her Olympics, she competed in the 50 metre freestyle. She has also competed in two World Championships, a World Short Course Championship and an African Games.

Oman competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, when the event was held from 5 to 21 August 2016. This was the nation's ninth consecutive appearance at the Summer Olympics. Four Omani athletes, two men and two women, were selected to compete in athletics and shooting at the Games. Among them were sprinter Barakat Al-Harthi, the lone returning Olympian from the previous Games. On their debuts, Mazoon Al-Alawi competed in running while Wadha Al-Balushi was the first woman to represent Oman in shooting. Rifle shooter Hamed Said Al-Khatri was the nation's flag bearer in the opening ceremony. None of the runners progressed past the heats and the shooters did not advance beyond the qualification rounds. Overall, both Al-Harthi and Al-Balushi had the highest placing for Oman with their 26th place finishes in the men's 100 metres and women's 10 m air pistol events.

Tabea Alt is a former German elite artistic gymnast. She is the 2017 World bronze medalist on balance beam, and a 2016 Olympian. She competed at the 2016 Gymnastics Olympic Test Event, contributing to the team placing of second, which qualified the German team for the 2016 Summer Olympics. At the 2016 Summer Olympics, the German team finished 6th in the team all-around competition.
