Brittney Ezell (born January 18, 1976) [1] is the head coach of the East Tennessee State Buccaneers women's basketball team. [2] As members of the Southern Conference, the Buccaneers compete in the NCAA's Division I. [3] Ezell had been the coach of Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Sun Belt Conference (SBC) is a collegiate athletic conference that has been affiliated with the NCAA's Division I since 1976. Originally a non-football conference, the Sun Belt began sponsoring football in 2001. Its football teams participate in the Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS). The 12 member institutions of the Sun Belt are distributed primarily across the southern United States.
The Atlantic Sun Conference, branded as the ASUN Conference, is a collegiate athletic conference operating mostly in the Southeastern United States. The league participates at the NCAA Division I level, and does not sponsor football. Originally established as the Trans America Athletic Conference (TAAC) in 1978, its headquarters are located in Macon, Georgia.
The Kennesaw State Owls fields 17 varsity athletics teams, competing for Kennesaw State University. After spending ten years in Division II's Peach Belt Conference, the university fully transitioned to Division I status in the National Collegiate Athletic Association at the beginning of the 2009–10 season. All of Kennesaw State's sports teams compete in the Atlantic Sun Conference, except for the football team, which is an associate member of the Big South Conference. The East Tennessee State Buccaneers are the 16 intercollegiate athletics teams that represent East Tennessee State University (ETSU), located in Johnson City, Tennessee. ETSU's teams include men and women's basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, tennis, and track and field; women's-only softball and volleyball; and men's-only baseball and football. The Buccaneers compete at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I level as a member of the Southern Conference (SoCon).
Rick Pietri is an American college basketball coach and the current women's head coach at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama. The Jacksonville State Gamecocks are members of the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) and compete in the NCAA's Division I. The former head coach at the University of South Alabama was named as JSU's new coach on June 25, 2013.
The 2005–06 NCAA Division I men's basketball season began on November 6, 2005, progressed through the regular season and conference tournaments, and concluded with the 2006 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament Championship Game on April 3, 2006, at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Florida Gators won their first NCAA national championship with a 73–56 victory over the UCLA Bruins. This was the final Final Four site at the RCA Dome. The Final Four will return to the city of Indianapolis, but will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium.
The Mercer Bears are the athletic teams of Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, United States. Mercer is the only private university in Georgia with an NCAA Division I athletic program and fields teams in eight men's and nine women's sports. The university competes in the Southern Conference for most sports. In 2013, the football team competed in the Pioneer Football League.
The North Florida Ospreys are the athletic teams of the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida. The Ospreys compete in the Atlantic Sun Conference in NCAA Division I. UNF became a full-fledged member of Division I in 2009; previously, the Ospreys were members of the Sunshine State Conference and Peach Belt Conference in NCAA Division II. UNF fields teams in seven men's sports and ten women's sports.
The East Tennessee State Buccaneers men's basketball team represents East Tennessee State University (ETSU), located in Johnson City, Tennessee, in men's college basketball. East Tennessee State is coached by Jason Shay and currently competes in the Southern Conference. The team last played in the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament in 2017. In March 2020 the Buccaneers won the SoCon championship.
The Ohio Valley Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year is an annual basketball award given to the Ohio Valley Conference's (OVC) most outstanding player. The award was first given following the 1962–63 season.
The Belmont Bruins are the intercollegiate athletic teams of Belmont University located in Nashville, Tennessee, United States. The Bruins athletic program is a member of the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) and competes at the NCAA Division I level.
The North Florida Ospreys represent the University of North Florida (UNF) in men's college basketball. The Ospreys compete in the Atlantic Sun Conference (A-Sun) in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). They play home games at UNF Arena on the school's campus in Jacksonville.
The Flagler Saints are the athletic teams that represent Flagler College, located in St. Augustine, in NCAA Division II intercollegiate sports. The Saints compete in the Peach Belt Conference, and have 15 varsity sports. They have been members of the Peach Belt Conference since 2009.
The North Georgia Nighthawks are the athletic teams that represent the University of North Georgia, located in Dahlonega, Georgia, in intercollegiate sports. The Nighthawks compete in NCAA Division II as members of the Peach Belt Conference in 12 of their 13 varsity sports; with rifle competing in the Division I Southern Conference. All 13 intercollegiate programs are hosted on the university's Dahlonega campus.
The 2013–14 NCAA Division I women's basketball season began in November and ended with the Final Four in Nashville, Tennessee April 6–8.
The Belmont Bruins women's basketball team represents Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. They currently play in the Ohio Valley Conference. On April 24, 2017, former DePaul assistant coach Bart Brooks was introduced as the new Bruins' head coach.
The 2015–16 East Tennessee State Buccaneers women's basketball team represented East Tennessee State University (ETSU) during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The "Bucs", led by third year head coach Brittney Ezell, played their home games at the Freedom Hall Civic Center as members of the Southern Conference (SoCon). They finished the season 16–14, 8–6 in SoCon play to finish in fourth place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the SoCon Women's Tournament to Furman.
The 2016–17 East Tennessee State Buccaneers women's basketball team represented East Tennessee State University (ETSU) during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The "Bucs", led by fourth-year head coach Brittney Ezell, played their home games at the Freedom Hall Civic Center as members of the Southern Conference (SoCon). They finished the season 16–14, 8–6 in SoCon play to finish in third place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the SoCon Women's Tournament to Samford.
The 2017–18 East Tennessee State Buccaneers women's basketball team represented East Tennessee State University (ETSU) during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The "Bucs", led by fifth-year head coach Brittney Ezell, played their home games at the Freedom Hall Civic Center as members of the Southern Conference (SoCon). The Bucs finished the season 20–13, 11–3 in second place in the SoCon, losing to Mercer in the conference tournament. They received a berth in the 2018 WNIT but lost in the first round to the James Madison Dukes.
