Bryan Gray is an American musician that has predominately performed with bands in the punk rock and hardcore punk genre, including and most notably, the Blamed, Blenderhead, Left Out, The Satire, and Rocks in Pink Cement. He also has performed in the hardcore band Six Feet Deep. Gray was best known for being the brainchild of The Blamed, which is known for their tenure on Tooth & Nail Records. History

Gray began his musical career in the band Rocks in Pink Cement. [3] The band was formed by Gray, as well as several friends in California, in the early 1990s. During their activity, they recorded a single demo, which was released around 1991. In 1992, Gray joined Blenderhead and performed during their first three shows, even appearing on their debut demo. By 1993, Gray was offered to join the band Mortal as a touring bassist, which resulted in Rocks in Pink Cement disbanding. [3] Gray took the offer, joining an ensemble cast of Jeff Bellew on guitars and Jim Chaffin on drums, both formerly of the Crucified, as well as Jyro Xhan and Jerome Fontamillas. [3] In his tenure with the band, he recorded with the band on Intense Live Series Vol. 5 , performing bass and backing vocals on the recording. [3] With this release, however, he used the moniker of Brian Grey, simply so "people did not know his real name". [3] Shortly after this, Gray was no longer able to tour with the band and then began his two projects, Mend and the Blamed. Though Mend only recorded and released one song, "Token", [5] The Blamed signed with Tooth & Nail Records and recorded their debut album, 21. [3] The band at the time consisted of Gray, Jim Chaffin on drums, Eric Churchill on bass, and Aaron Bradford on guitars.

The next year, at Tomfest, Gray created a side-project called Left Out, [6] alongside Myk Porter (Six Feet Deep) on guitars, Daren Diolosa (Klank) on guitars, Jake Landrau (the Blamed) on guitars, Jesse Smith (Zao) on drums, and Gray on bass and vocals. [7] In 1996, the band recorded their debut album: Pride Kills. By this time, Gray moved to Cleveland, Ohio, joining Six Feet Deep as their bassist after Matthew Simmons departed. [3] Gray recorded new material for the Blamed, Left Out, and Six Feet Deep, with Left Out's Serve Self and Six Feet Deep's The Road Less Traveled released in 1997, and the Blamed's ...Again released in 1998. However, Six Feet Deep disbanded in 1997, leading him to move to Chicago, Illinois, where he would become associated with JPUSA. [3] The Blamed and Left Out would both continue to serve as Gray's main projects, releasing albums rather consistently, until 2002, when Left Out merged with the Blamed. In 2003, however, the Blamed disbanded. [3] At this time, Gray had been in contact with Living Sacrifice and had been set to join the band as Bruce Fitzhugh was planning on departing. Cory Brandan of Eso-Charis had been playing guitars, but with Fitzhugh's departure, he would be taking guitars and vocal duties, with Gray filling in the rhythm guitar position. [8] [9] [10] [11] However, this never occurred due to the band's disbanding.

In 2004, Gray formed the metalcore band the Satire. [12] [13] Originally, the project was known as The Blamed is Dead and consisted of Gray and former Living Sacrifice drummer Lance Garvin. [13] However, eventually, Garvin departed, and Gray took the project in a different direction, being the only consistent member for a number of years. [13] In 2008, the Satire recorded Norway Demo while on tour in Scandinavia alongside the Chariot and Benea Reach. [12] [14] Around this time, the band went to Nashville and recorded a self-titled EP with Joel Lauver of Trenches. [3] [15] The EP would be released through Blood & Ink Records in 2012. The Blamed briefly reunited in 2012. In 2016, the Blamed reunited with Gray at the helm once more, alongside fellow original member Jim Chaffin on drums with Sid Doffour on bass, Jeff Locke on guitars and Wiley Willis on vocals. [16] The band performed at Audiofeed that year and then returned to inactivity until 2018. [16] The band returned with a split EP with Gray's other project the Satire, which at this point consisted of a whole new lineup. In 2019, the Blamed released The Church is Hurting People, their first album since reuniting. [17] In 2020, The Satire released a 7-inch: The Presence.

Living Sacrifice is an American Christian metal band formed in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1989. The band has released eight studio albums, out of which the first three were recorded under R.E.X. Records with their original vocalist Darren Johnson as a more thrash metal and death metal oriented band. The band evolved into a groove metal and metalcore style beginning with Reborn (1997) under Solid State Records with the original guitarist Bruce Fitzhugh on vocals. In 2003, the group disbanded due to other projects and later their label, Solid State, released their best-of album, In Memoriam (2005). In 2008, Living Sacrifice reformed and released a two-song digital only single called Death Machine. They then began working on The Infinite Order which was released on January 26, 2010. Lance Garvin and Bruce Fitzhugh are the two remaining original members.

Barnes designed the original Cannibal Corpse logo, the Six Feet Under logo and also created the artwork for Warpath, released in 1997.

William Rocky Gray is a drummer and guitarist who has been part of the Arkansas metal scene since the early 1990s. He was the drummer for the rock band Evanescence from 2003-2007 and the lead guitarist for Solus Deus. He is the lead guitarist for Living Sacrifice and the drummer for Soul Embraced, Mourningside, Machina, and We Are the Fallen. Gray also released a solo album titled Accursed (2015).

The Crucified is an American Christian hardcore and crossover thrash band from Fresno, California that formed in 1984. Its lineup is vocalist Mark Salomon, guitarist Greg Minier, bassist Jeff Bellew, and drummer Jim Chaffin. The band are considered "pioneers of Christian hardcore." During their initial 1984–1993 tenure, the band played at the Cornerstone Festival several times, and also opened for non-religious punk and metal bands like D.R.I. and Pantera. The band broke up in 1993 due to personal differences, but reunited in 2009.

Embodyment was a Christian rock band from Arlington, Texas. The group formed in 1992 and were first known by the name Supplication where they originally played death metal, later turning to deathcore with the release of their debut album Embrace the Eternal, which in turn is credited as one of the earliest deathcore releases of all time. Following their debut full-length the band would completely abandon all their extreme metal elements thereafter, pursuing instead an alternative rock style with their album The Narrow Scope of Things and subsequently became lighter with each proceeding album.

Tygers of Pan Tang are an English heavy metal band who are part of the new wave of British heavy metal movement. They formed in 1978 in Whitley Bay, England, and were active until 1987. The band reformed in 1999 and continue to record and perform. The name is derived from Pan Tang, a fictional archipelago in Michael Moorcock's Elric of Melniboné fantasy series whose wizards keep tigers as pets.

The Loved Ones are an American punk rock band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Founded in late 2003, the band consists of Dave Hause, David Walsh (guitar), Chris Gonzalez (bass/guitar), Michael Cotterman (bass) and Mike Sneeringer (drums). They are presently signed to Fat Wreck Chords.

Bruce Fitzhugh is the second and best known lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist and founding member of Arkansas's Christian metal band Living Sacrifice. The lead vocalist role was left to Bruce shortly after the departure of former lead Darren Johnson and prior to the recording of Living Sacrifice's 1997 album, Reborn. Fitzhugh is featured in Zao's The Lesser Lights of Heaven DVD. Fitzhugh's nephew is Drew Garrison, Vocalist for Descended From Wolves and Becoming Saints.

Mortal was a Christian industrial/dance band fronted by Jerome Fontamillas and Jyro Xhan. Both members went on to found the alternative rock group Fold Zandura, and for a time were members of both bands simultaneously. The band is known for its lyrical intelligence, incorporating advanced theology with what has been billed as "Industrial Praise and Worship." According to CCM Magazine "Mortal has had a much greater influence... on industrial music than its modest output would suggest."

Blenderhead was an American punk rock band signed to Tooth & Nail Records. They released three albums from 1992 to 2001. The band reunited for guitarist Tyler Vander Ploeg's 40th birthday in March 2016.

Left Out was a Chicago, Illinois Christian punk supergroup that was active from 1995-2002.

Arthur Green is the fourth and current bassist for the extreme metal band, Living Sacrifice. He, along with brothers Cory Brandan Putman and Matthew Putman, founded the mathcore band Eso-Charis.

The Blamed is an American Christian hardcore punk band currently based out of Chicago. During their tenure they have played primarily hardcore punk, pop punk, punk rock, and emo music with some influences from metal as well. They originally are from California having relocated to Illinois after guitarist Bryan Gray moved to Chicago. The band originally formed in 1994 and disbanded in 2003. Members during this era of the band included Bryan Gray, Christopher Wiitala, Trevor Wiitala, Jeff Locke, Jim Chaffin, John Hansen, and Matt Switaj. They have released three albums, with Tooth & Nail Records, 21 in 1994, Frail in 1996, and Give Us Barabbas in 2002. The band released four albums, with Grrr Records, ...Again in 1998, Forever in 1999, Germany in 2000, and Isolated Incident in 2001. The band reformed in the summer of 2016 to play a one-off set at Audio Feed music festival. This has since lead to the band reforming and recording a split EP with the Chicago hardcore band The Satire, a band sharing multiple members with the Blamed. The split EP was released in November 2018 through Indivision Music.

Six Feet Deep was an American punk and heavy metal band started in 1991, which became popular in the mid-west United States due to success of their debut album. A review on Cross Rhythms of the band's album, Struggle was a 10/10 review. Their second album, The Road Less Traveled, made Sputnik Music's No. 5 on the "Metalcore Bible: Part 1".

Focused was a hardcore punk band that originated out of Long Beach, California in 1991, with a Christian hardcore style. The band broke up in 1996, but reunited briefly in 2009.

Chatterbox also styled as CHATTERbOX was a project of the Crucified's Jeff Bellew. The project hosted many session musicians, including Stavesacre and the Crucified's Mark Salomon, and Argyle Park and Circle of Dust's Scott Albert. Bellew has also played on Argyle Park's album Misguided, along with Salomon, Dirk Lemmenes, and multiple other musicians.

Jim Chaffin is an American musician. He is the original drummer for the Crucified and Fasedown and has played with many other acts, such as Deliverance, the Blamed and Left Out.

Larry Farkas is an American guitarist who primarily performs thrash metal. He was a member of Christian bands Vengeance Rising, Deliverance, Holy Soldier, and Once Dead, many of which he started.

Klank, also stylized as kLaNk or KLANK, is an American industrial metal and groove metal band that originated out of Long Island, New York in December 1993. The project began after Daren Diolosa, the brainchild of Klank, departed from the fellow industrial band Circle of Dust. Diolosa carried the project as a solo project until around 1997, when he began performing live. Following the live performances, Pat Servedio joined as a full-time member, with Diolosa and Servedio joining as a team. The band would go through many members, eventually settling on the lineup of Diolosa, Servedio, and former Every Day Life drummer Eric Wilkins.
