The Burkina Faso national football team represents Burkina Faso in men's international football and is controlled by the Burkinabé Football Federation. They were known as the Upper Volta national football team until 1984, when Upper Volta became Burkina Faso. They finished fourth in the 1998 Africa Cup of Nations, when they hosted the tournament. Their best ever finish in the tournament was the 2013 edition, reaching the final.
The Panafrican Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou is a film festival in Burkina Faso, held biennially in Ouagadougou, where the organization is based. It accepts for competition only films by African filmmakers and chiefly produced in Africa. FESPACO is scheduled in March every second year, two weeks after the last Saturday of February. Its opening night is held in the Stade du 4-Août, the national stadium.
The Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa is an international organization that unites the 54 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) of Africa. It is currently headquartered in Abuja, Nigeria. It serves as the successor to Standing Committee of African Sports or Comité permanent du sport africain founded in 1965 in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo.
The 11th African Games took place from September 4–19, 2015 in Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo. This edition marked the 50th anniversary of the Games, as well as their return to Brazzaville, which hosted the first edition in 1965.
The 2015 African Games men's football tournament qualification decided the participating teams of the 2015 African Games men's football tournament. A total of eight teams qualified to play in the men's football tournament, including Congo who qualified automatically as hosts. Both the qualifying rounds and the final tournament were age-restricted and open to men's under-23 national teams only.
Laetitia Kimalou Bambara is a French-born hammer thrower representing Burkina Faso. She won several medals on continental medal in addition to finishing fourth at the 2007 Summer Universiade.
