The 11th African Games took place from September 4–19, 2015 in Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo. This edition marked the 50th anniversary of the Games, as well as their return to Brazzaville, which hosted the first edition in 1965.
The Democratic Republic of the Congo at the 2015 All-Africa Games had athletes competing in taekwondo, table tennis, swimming, athletics, karate, badminton, cycling, basketball, boxing, judo and volleyball.
Algeria competed at the 2019 African Games held from 19 to 31 August 2019 in Rabat, Morocco. On 17 August, judo events began two days before the opening ceremony on the first day, Algeria achieved 9 medals, including two gold medals by Wail Ezzine in weight 66 kg and Faïza Aissahine in weight 52 kg. On the second and last day were content with only two medals silver and bronze.
The Algeria national badminton team represents Algeria in international badminton team competitions. The team made their first-ever appearance at the Thomas Cup in 2018. The Algerian team have never qualified for the Uber Cup and the Sudirman Cup.
Sinali Alima Outtara is an Ivorian pole vaulter, who is the national record holder in indoor and outdoor pole vault events. She won a bronze medal at the 2010 African Championships in Athletics, a silver medal at the 2011 All-Africa Games, and a bronze medal at the 2015 African Games.
