The 2015 ICC Women's World Twenty20 Qualifier was an international women's cricket tournament held in Thailand from 28 November to 5 December 2015. It was the second edition of the Women's World Twenty20 Qualifier.
The 2015 Africa T20 Cup was a Twenty20 cricket tournament held in South Africa from 4 September to 4 October 2015, as a curtain-raiser to the 2015–16 South African domestic season. Organized by Cricket South Africa, it featured thirteen South African provincial teams, as well as a Zimbabwean development XI and the national sides of Kenya and Namibia.

The 2017 South Africa Women's Quadrangular Series was an international women's cricket tournament that was held in Potchefstroom, South Africa, from 4 to 21 May 2017. The series was contested between the teams of India, Ireland, South Africa and Zimbabwe. The matches were played at Senwes Park and The PUK Oval. All the matches were played as Women's One Day International (WODI) matches, except for fixtures that featured Zimbabwe, who do not have WODI status.

The finals tournament were originally scheduled to be held in September 2019, but were moved to March 2020, with the original host city being Nairobi, Kenya. On 9 March 2020, the tournament was postponed again due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in line with the Kenyan government's 30-day ban on international gatherings. The tournament was eventually rescheduled for September 2022.

The venue for all of the matches was the Tafawa Balewa Square Cricket Oval in Lagos. Along with the hosts Nigeria, the tournament featured the national teams of Gambia, Ghana, Rwanda and Sierra Leone. Cameroon were also originally scheduled to take part.

The 2022 Kwibuka Women's T20 Tournament was a women's T20I (WT20I) cricket tournament that was held in Rwanda from 9 to 18 June 2022. This was the eighth edition of the annual Kwibuka T20 Tournament, first played in 2014 in remembrance of the victims of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi. Matches were played at two venues in the city of Kigali – the Gahanga International Cricket Stadium and the IPRC Cricket Ground. Kenya were the defending champions, having won the 2021 edition. This was the fourth time that Kenya had won the tournament.

Eight teams participated in the event, with all the matches held at the Achimota Oval grounds in Accra. Matches involving the South African team, which was composed of university players, were downgraded from T20I status on 19 March 2024, after the team had already played its first two matches. Zimbabwe were represented by an emerging side and their matches were also downgraded from T20I status.
