Nicholas Roy Welch (born 5 February 1998) is a Zimbabwean cricketer who played for Mashonaland Eagles. [1] After playing domestic cricket in Zimbabwe,he moved to England,signing to play for Leicestershire County Cricket Club in September 2020. [2] [3] In the same month,he also gained UK citizenship. [4]
In March 2019,he played for Loughborough MCCU in a first-class match against Leicestershire,as part of the Marylebone Cricket Club University fixtures. [5] He made his Twenty20 debut on 13 September 2020,for Leicestershire in the 2020 t20 Blast. [6]
In December 2020,he was selected to play for the Mountaineers in the 2020–21 Logan Cup in Zimbabwe. [7] [8] On 24 October 2023,he made his debut in international cricket with a first ball 'duck' for Zimbabwe against Namibia in a T20 match at Windhoek where he was dismissed in the first ball of the match.

An all-rounder,he played as right-handed batsman and bowled right-arm medium-pace deliveries. He scored over 16,000 first-class runs and after the age of 35 took more than 500 wickets and more than 30 five-wicket hauls.
