CRFM launched on 15 April 2024 at 8am. The studios are named after the late broadcaster John Myers. [2] The station is not to be confused with CFM, which now broadcasts as Greatest Hits Radio Cumbria & South West Scotland. One of the stations co-founders is former radio presenter Darrell Thomas, who is the managing director. [3]
CRFM is run entirely by volunteers, who live and work in Carlisle or Cumbria, and will showcase local artists musical talents to local sports news, local news updates, and giving the lowdown on all the upcoming events. [4]

911 are an English pop group consisting of Lee Brennan, Jimmy Constable and Simon "Spike" Dawbarn. They were formed in Glasgow in 1995 and released their debut single "Night to Remember" in May 1996. This was followed by their debut album The Journey in March 1997, which was certified Gold by the BPI in November 1997. 911 released two more Silver-certified albums, Moving On and There It Is, in 1998 and 1999, respectively. There It Is also produced their only UK number-one single, a cover of "A Little Bit More", which topped the UK Singles Chart in January 1999.
John Myers was a British radio executive, consultant and presenter. He was Chairman of the UK Radio Academy Awards, The Commercial Radio Awards and owner of Myers Media. Myers developed the Century Radio brand for Border Radio Holdings in the early 1990s, launching two more stations later in the decade. He presented programmes under the pseudonym "John Morgan". He then became Chief executive of GMG Radio, developing the Real Radio, Smooth Radio and Rock Radio brands and overseeing GMG Radio's acquisition of the Century network from GCap Media. He served as Chief executive of The Radio Academy from April 2011 until June 2012 and the founding Chairman of TeamRock, retiring in May 2016.
