Brett Lee is an Australian former international cricketer, who played all three formats of the game. During his international career, Lee was recognised as one of the fastest bowlers in the world. With his time representing Australia, Lee won multiple ICC titles with the team: the 2003 Cricket World Cup, the 2006 ICC Champions Trophy, and the 2009 ICC Champions Trophy. Lee was the first bowler to take a hat-trick in the T20 format of the game which he did in 2007 ICC World Twenty20 in the inaugural tournament against Bangladesh, subsequently being the first bowler to do so at an ICC Men's T20 World Cup. Lee was also the first Australian bowler to take a hat-trick at a Cricket World Cup which he did in the 2003 Cricket World Cup Super Match game against Kenya.

Michael James Di Venuto is an Australian cricket coach and former first-class cricketer who represented both Australia and Italy. The bulk of his first-class cricket career was spent playing for Tasmanian Tigers. After retiring from representative cricket in Australia, he continued playing for Durham County Cricket Club till July 2012, when he announced retirement from County Cricket. He has also previously played cricket in England for Derbyshire and Sussex. A left hand opening batsman, his form for Tasmania throughout the mid-1990s earned him a call up for the Australian national cricket team in the One Day International arena, although after nine games he was dropped. Like some of his contemporary Tasmanian teammates such as Jamie Cox, Dene Hills, and Shaun Young, Di Venuto can be considered unlucky to have not had a more successful international career, as he was playing at a time when the Australian national cricket team was highly dominant, and difficult to earn selection for. After retiring from Durham, he was appointed Australia's full-time batting coach by head coach Mickey Arthur, and was then head coach of Surrey from 2016 until 2020.

Manly Warringah District Cricket Club is a cricket club in based in Manly, Sydney, Australia who play in the Sydney Grade Cricket competition. Founded in 1878, Manly was a foundation club in the Sydney grade competition. Manly are relatively successful, having won the Club Championship 5 times since the year 2000. The current head coach is Tim Cruickshank and the first-grade captain Jay Lenton. Manly play their home games at Manly Oval. The club has produced a number of international cricketers, more recently Stephen O'Keefe, Stuart Clark and Michael Bevan, and all-time great Keith Miller. In 2019, Morne Morkel played a season at Manly in preparation for the Big Bash which he played for the Perth Scorchers and after he retired, he became Manly's Assistant Coach.. Current state representatives include Mickey Edwards, Jack Edwards, Stephen O'Keefe and Oliver Davies. Other first-class players include Ahillen Beadle and Jay Lenton. Media personalities including Cameron Merchant and Andrew Rochford currently also represent Manly-Warringah.

The Stags share their home ground of Chatswood Oval with Gordon Rugby Club. Nineteen players have gone on to play international cricket, including Victor Trumper, Charlie Macartney, Bert Oldfield, Brian Taber, Ian Davis, Phil Emery, Adam Gilchrist, Mason Crane and Matt Parkinson. Mosman Cricket Club is a cricket club based in Mosman, New South Wales, Australia. The club's senior players compete in the Sydney Grade Cricket competition, while junior members play in the North Shore Junior Cricket Association. Mosman Cricket Club was founded in 1908 and entered the Sydney first grade competition in 1921, having played in lower grades in previous seasons. The club was known as Mosman-Middle Harbour CC for many years after Mosman and Middle Harbour cricket clubs merged.
The 2018–19 Sheffield Shield season was the 117th season of the Sheffield Shield, the Australian domestic first-class cricket competition. The season started on 16 October 2018. For the first time in six seasons, the competition featured no day/night matches. The first five rounds took place prior to the international Test series against India, and in addition the season breaks for the Big Bash League.
