Campton is an unincorporated community in Walton County, Georgia, United States. [1] It is located approximately 15 miles from Dacula and Highway 316.
An early variant name was "Camp's Station". [2] The Georgia General Assembly incorporated the place as the "Town of Campton" in 1905, with corporate limits extending in a one-half mile radius from the storehouse of William F. Camp. [3] The town's charter was officially dissolved in 1995. [2]
The William Harris Homestead, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is located in or near Campton. [4]

Camp Butler National Cemetery is a United States National Cemetery located a few miles northeast of Springfield and a few miles southwest of Riverton, a small town nearby to Springfield, in Sangamon County, Illinois. It was named for Illinois State Treasurer at the time of its establishment, William Butler. Administered by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, it occupies approximately 53 acres (21 ha), and is the site of 19,825 interments as of the end of 2005.
