Capture is an American reality competition television series on The CW that is hosted by Luke Tipple and premiered on July 30, 2013. [2]
Capture, brings twelve teams of two to a 4,000-acre wilderness area called the Arena to participate in hunts to eliminate other teams as the $250,000 grand prize. [3] [4] The competition lasts for a month, and the teams, while still in the game, reside in a small camp named the Village and given meager food and rations, and otherwise forced to rely on survival skills for other resources. Teams are identified by matching color jackets they wear, and must stay together throughout the game. During hunts, each player wears a special vest mounted with an over-the-shoulder camera, as well as an armband mounted with a screen that can be used to display a map of the area, the team's current location, and other information during the hunt.
The competition is divided into two-day cycles, each day featuring one four-hour hunt. At the start of each cycle, one team is randomly selected as the Hunt team, and the remaining teams are Prey. Over the course of these two days, the Hunt team stays at the Lodge, a special part of the camp with better shelter and improved provisions. They are also allowed to invite one other team to join them for the night between hunts. The Hunt team is challenged to capture two teams during the two hunts. They are given the opportunity to capture one team during the first hunt, and if they fail to do so, they can attempt to make two captures during the second hunt. The Prey teams are given a few minutes head start at the beginning of each hunt before the Hunt team follows them. A team is captured by the Hunt team by attaching their activated Talons (small metal, magnetic disks) onto the vest of either member of a Prey team. The Talon is only active for a few minutes after which the Hunt team must wait for some time before they can attempt capture again. The Hunt team is given no special information about the locations of the other teams, however if a Prey team remains still for more than three minutes, the Hunt team is shown the location of this team on their armband display. The hunt is concluded once a team is captured or time runs out. Teams that are captured are kept in a cage-like area of camp and are given limited provisions and minimal shelter compared to the other teams.
During a hunt, an Advantage may be placed on the field. The first team to reach the Advantage gains an ability, which may vary from hunt to hunt. Each team is shown the location of the Advantage; teams may either pursue the Advantage in an effort to reach it first, or avoid the Advantage in order to minimize the probability of an encounter with the Hunt team. In certain cases, all Prey team alarms may be active during a hunt until the Advantage has been claimed. Advantages featured in Season 1 include:
Supply points may be available for all Prey teams, though they are only available for one hour. A supply point is a safety zone which the Hunt team may not enter, and contains one or more advantageous items that Prey teams may claim in order of arrival. On the night of the second day, between one and two teams are eligible for elimination, depending on the Hunt team's success in capturing Prey.
In the latter two cases, the eliminated team is determined by vote of non-eligible teams; in the case of a tie, the Hunt team casts the tie-breaking vote.
Capture was filmed in an area of wilderness just northeast of Shaver Lake in eastern California ( 37°08′26″N119°15′47″W / 37.14056°N 119.26306°W ). [5] The terrain is mostly dry, wooded, and hilly and located around 6,000 ft above sea level, making breathing difficult. Environmental conditions play a factor in gameplay, as players must tolerate near-freezing temperatures at night while sleeping in basic bunks, blankets, and tarps; the occasional rain or hailstorm; and other elements of wilderness survival. Movement injuries (such as sprained joints) are common as a result of fast movement over the varied (and occasionally rugged) terrain.
Once only two teams remain, the final hunt starts with both teams as Prey, and are given separate locations where they can find their Talons. The first team to acquire their Talons becomes the Hunt team, but the roles then switch every fifteen minutes afterwards. The first team to capture the other while they are the Hunt team wins the game.
Capture uses the NinjaTel Van to provide wireless network connectivity to the remote wilderness area. [6]
Capture uses reconstructions of the hunt to facilitate the production of each episode. While some scenes are from player mounted cameras and from what appear to be fixed camera positions throughout the hunt area, a substantial portion of the footage of a hunt comes from players reenactment. A disclaimer following each episode states that the reenactments have no bearing on the outcomes of the game.

^1 During the sixth hunt, Teal won the power to overthrow the current hunt team (Gold). They chose to replace them with the Red team who had been caught by Gold the previous day. The Red team then caught Gold during the second day. Meaning that Red and Gold would be up for elimination after catching each other.

The seventh season of American talent show competition series America's Got Talent was broadcast on NBC from May 14 to September 13, 2012. Following the previous season, Piers Morgan left the program due to other commitments, and was replaced by the producers with Howard Stern. However, this change involved moving the venue for the live rounds of the competition from Los Angeles to Newark, New Jersey, which increased the size of the audience that attended each live episode. Along with a visual makeover of the program to improve its presentation on television, a planned break was included with the broadcast schedule between July 24 and August 14, to avoid clashing with the network's live coverage of the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Oh Sit! is an hour-long game show competition series that premiered on September 27, 2012, on The CW. The series, according to the network, was a "high-octane musical chairs competition". Despite low ratings during its run, on September 26, 2012, Oh Sit! was renewed for a ten-episode second season, which premiered on Monday, April 15, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern/7:00 p.m. Central and concluded on December 19, 2013.
So You Think You Can Dance, an American television dance competition, returned for its ninth season on May 24, 2012, on FOX Television. Fox and series creator Nigel Lythgoe have each independently confirmed that the weekly results show, a staple of the series in seasons 2–8, has been cut from the show format and that only one episode will air each week for the show's ninth season. This season has marked three firsts in the series history: this season had two winners, as opposed to the single winner format used in previous seasons, a contemporary dancer was not amongst the contestants remaining in the competition in the finale, and lastly, a ballet dancer is the winner of the competition.

The series centers on a journalist blogger and a production assistant, who investigate a series of mysterious disappearances that are linked to a popular television series named Cult.
The fourth season of NCIS: Los Angeles an American police procedural drama television series originally aired on CBS from September 25, 2012, to May 14, 2013. The season was produced by Shane Brennan Productions and CBS Television Studios, with Shane Brennan as showrunner and executive producer. The episodes, "Red" and "Red-2" were intended to be a backdoor pilot for a purposed series titled NCIS: Red associated with the NCIS franchise. However, NCIS: Red was not picked up to series by CBS on May 15, 2013.

So You Think You Can Dance, a televised American dance competition, began broadcast of its tenth season on May 14, 2013. It airs on the FOX Television Network and was hosted by Cat Deeley and featured returning permanent judges Nigel Lythgoe, who also serves as one of the show's executive producers, and Mary Murphy. The show featured many of the format changes instituted in the previous season, including notably a single episode per week/voting round. It was also the first season in the show's history that a tap dancer not only made it past the third week of competition, but made the finale. It is also the first season to last longer than nine weeks. Lythgoe announced in the finale that the show has been renewed for the eleventh season.
The ninth season of Supernatural, an American dark fantasy television series created by Eric Kripke, premiered on October 8, 2013, concluded on May 20, 2014, and contained 23 episodes. This is the second season with Jeremy Carver as showrunner. The season was released on DVD and Blu-ray in region 1 on September 9, 2014, in region 2 on June 8, 2015, and in region 4 on October 8, 2014. The season follows Dean and Sam as they try to stop a revived Abaddon, a Knight of Hell, and have to use a cursed object called The First Blade to do so. Meanwhile, Metatron closes off heaven and causes the angels to fall, and Castiel will stop at nothing to stop him.

Adam Levine and Blake Shelton returned as coaches for their sixth season, while Shakira and Usher returned for their second season after being replaced by original coaches Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green in season five. The season follows Sam and Dean as Dean deals with the after effects of using The First Blade and becomes a demon. The brothers try to escape the curse, dealing with a family of murderers and Cain himself.

The commission of an eleventh season was first announced by series creator Nigel Lythgoe on the September 10, 2013, telecast of the season 10 finale. The season again features Lythgoe, who also serves as executive producer, and ballroom expert Mary Murphy as the two permanent members of the judge's panel while Cat Deeley continues in her role as host for a tenth consecutive season.
The tenth season of American talent show competition series America's Got Talent was broadcast on NBC from May 26 to September 16, 2015. After the previous season, the format of the second round of auditions was changed to a more competitive stage under the title "Judge Cuts", with each episode under this new arrangement featuring a guest judge.
