Carnal Forge are a Swedish band, best classified as thrash metal with some melodic death metal influences. [1] [2] Their name originates from a song on Carcass's album Heartwork . [3]
Carnel Forge was founded in Sala in 1997 by Jari Kuusisto and Stefan Westerberg as a side project to their band In Thy Dreams. [4] [1] They released their debut album Who's Gonna Burn (War Music) in 1998, then signed with Century Media Records in 2000 and recorded Firedemon (2000) and Please... Die! (2001). [5] [6] [7]
In 2000, guitarist Johan Magnusson left and bassist Petri Kuusisto took his place. [8] Lars Lindén replaced Petri on bass and made his debut at the 2000 Decibel Festival in Bengtsfors, Sweden and at the Wacken Open Air Festival in Wacken, Germany. [9] Around this time, the band went on tour across Europe with The Haunted and Nile. [10] The releases of The More You Suffer (2003) and Aren't You Dead Yet? (2004) came just prior to the departure of vocalist Jonas Kjellgren just prior to the band's European tour with Pro-Pain. [11] [12] [13] Jens C. Mortensen was chosen as their new vocalist in a matter of days. [13] [14]
In addition to Europe, the band also toured the USA and Japan and played a number of festivals, including the Sweden Rock Festival, [15] Metal Meltdown (USA), [16] Fury Fest, [17] Pressure Festival (Germany), [18] Kaltenbach Open Air (Austria) [19] Summer Breeze Open Air, [20] and Fuck the Commerce (Germany). [21] They released a 2004 DVD "Destroy Live" of concerts in New York City, Kraków, and Tokyo. [22] In January 2007, the band signed to Candlelight Records and released the album Testify for My Victims later that year. [23] [7] Owe Lingvall, who the band had worked with before on previous music videos, directed the videos for "Burning Eden" and "Numb (The Dead)," both of which were filmed in Umeå, Sweden. [24]
In November 2007, Mortensen and Jari left the band because they were "fed up with the music industry;" other Carnal Forge members were grappling with personal problems too. [14] Dino Medanhodzic (guitar) of Construcdead and Peter Tuthill (vocals) of Soulbreach were brought in to replace them. [14] [25] In September 2009, they released their next album's first single, "Blood War," and filmed the music video the next month. [24] It was edited by Tuthill and mixed by Medanhodzic, then released the following summer. [26] [24] Not long after, in January 2010, Westerberg left the band and was replaced by Chris Barkensjö. [27] [28] In 2011, Lindén announced the band would be taking an indefinite hiatus for personal reasons and because they "weren't having much fun anymore." [29] They reunited in 2013; Mortensen and Jari returned and Lawrence Dinamarca joined on drums. [30] They released a single, "When All Else Fails," in 2014. [8] Mortensen became a father and withdrew from the band again in 2015 while recording their next album. [31] He was replaced by Tommie Wahlberg. [31] In 2018, after a 12-year hiatus, Carnal Forge released Gun to Mouth Salvation, its seventh album, with ViciSolum Production. [2] [14] [31] Jari departed again in January 2022. [32]

Fear Factory is an American industrial metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1989. Throughout the band's career, they have released ten full-length albums and have evolved through a succession of sounds, all in their main style of industrial metal. Over the years, Fear Factory has seen frequent changes in its lineup, with lead vocalist Burton C. Bell being the only consistent member for 31 years until his departure in 2020. Guitarist Dino Cazares is the only original member still in the band. The band went on hiatus in March 2002 following some internal disputes, but resumed activity a year later without founding member Cazares. Previous bassist Christian Olde Wolbers replaced him on guitar, while Byron Stroud handled bass duties. After a second hiatus in 2006, Fear Factory reunited in April 2009 with a new lineup that featured a returning Cazares, Gene Hoglan as the replacement of original drummer Raymond Herrera, and Bell and Stroud reprising their respective roles; this lineup recorded the band's seventh studio album titled Mechanize (2010). Wolbers and Herrera — together comprising 50% of the band's legal ownership — disputed the legitimacy of the reunited band, and a legal battle from both parties had begun. Despite this, Fear Factory has since released three more albums: The Industrialist (2012), Genexus (2015) and Aggression Continuum (2021).
