The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) is the Democratic Hill committee for the United States Senate. Its purpose is to elect Democrats to the United States Senate. The DSCC's current Chair is Senator Kirsten Gillibrand of New York who succeeded Gary Peters of Michigan,after the 2024 Senate elections. DSCC's current executive director is Christie Roberts.
The 1976 United States Senate elections was an election for the United States Senate. Held on November 2,the 33 seats of Class 1 were contested in regular elections. They coincided with Democrat Jimmy Carter's presidential election and the United States Bicentennial celebration. Although almost half of the seats decided in this election changed parties,Carter's narrow victory did not provide coattails for the Democratic Party. Each party flipped seven Senate seats,although,one of the seats flipped by Democrats was previously held by a Conservative.
The 1960 United States Senate elections coincided with the election of John F. Kennedy as president on November 8,1960. The 33 seats of Class 2 were contested in regular elections. A special election was also held on June 28,1960,for a mid-term vacancy in North Dakota where Democrats flipped a seat to expand their majority to 66–34. As Majority Leader Lyndon Johnson was elected Vice President,Mike Mansfield became the new majority leader.
Texas's 22nd congressional district of the United States House of Representatives covers a largely suburban southwestern portion of the Greater Houston metropolitan area. The district includes most of Fort Bend County,including most of the cities of Sugar Land,Rosenberg,Needville and the county seat of Richmond as well as the county's share of the largely unincorporated Greater Katy area west of Houston. In addition,the district also contains portions of northern Brazoria County,including most of Pearland and Alvin and all of Wharton and Matagorda counties,as well as a small portion of western Harris County centered on most of that county's share of the Greater Katy area.

Chris Redfern is an American politician,former state representative in Ohio,and former chair of the Ohio Democratic Party. He won election to the chairmanship of the Ohio Democratic Party in December 2005 and was reelected in 2008 and again in 2012 before resigning in December 2014. He was previously a Democratic State Representative for Ohio House District 80 and had been a member of the Ohio House since 1999. During the 2012 general election,he was again elected to serve as State Representative for the newly drawn 89th District.

Truman was elected to a full term in an upset,defeating Republican nominee New York Governor Thomas E. Dewey and two erstwhile Democrats. The Democrats won back control of Congress from the Republicans. Until 2020,Democrats would never again flip a chamber of Congress in a presidential election cycle.

Jessie Danielson is an American politician from the State of Colorado. She is an elected member of the Colorado State Senate representing District 22 after being redistricted from District 20. Previously,she served in the Colorado House of Representatives representing District 24 in Jefferson County. A Democrat,Danielson was first elected in the November 4,2014 general election.

All of Wisconsin's partisan executive and administrative offices were up for election as well as one of Wisconsin's U.S. Senate seats,Wisconsin's eight seats in the United States House of Representatives,seventeen seats in the Wisconsin State Senate,and all 99 seats in the Wisconsin State Assembly. The 2018 Wisconsin Fall Partisan Primary was held August 14,2018. There were also special elections held during 2018 for three State Assembly seats and two state senate seats.
A special election was held on November 7,2017,to fill the vacant seat in the Washington State Senate representing the 45th district. The seat was left vacant after the death of incumbent Andy Hill in October 2016. Dino Rossi,a former candidate for U.S. Senate in 2010 and for governor in 2004 and 2008,was appointed to fill the seat until the election. He announced that he would not run for the seat. The election was then contested between Manka Dhingra of the Democratic Party and Jinyoung Lee Englund of the Republican Party,who advanced as the top two finishers in the August primary. Dhingra won the election by more than ten percent,giving the Democratic caucus a 25–24 majority for the 2018 session.

Regularly scheduled elections were held for 33 out of the 100 seats in the U.S. Senate,and special elections were held in California and Nebraska. U.S. senators are divided into three classes whose six-year terms are staggered so that a different class is elected every two years. Class 1 senators faced election in 2024. Republicans flipped four Democratic-held seats,regaining a Senate majority for the first time in four years.
