Gary McCann, known professionally as Caspa (born 30 May 1982), is a dubstep music producer from West London.
McCann's creative involvement in music began after a promising basketball career was cut short by a shoulder injury. [1] Growing up, McCann cites Jungle and Hip Hop as his main influences. [2] He received his first public attention when, his first track, Bassbins recorded under the pseudonym Quiet Storm, was picked up by BBC Radio 1Xtra's DJ Da Flex. [3]
McCann has started his own label, which focuses on dubstep and grime artists. Storming Productions was founded in 2004 [4] and then he joined Stingray Records in 2006. Around this time, he also began his own radio show on Rinse FM. [2] McCann also created an additional label Dub Police to focus specifically on Dubstep. Dub Police is composed of Rusko, L-Wiz, N-Type, The Others and more. [2]
He has performed at a number of high-profile UK music festivals, including Glastonbury and Global Gathering and his release Back for the First Time has received widespread public attention, being playlisted on BBC Radio 1. [5] He has also performed at many other notable festivals around the world such as Exit Festival in Serbia, Stereosonic in Australia and Lollapalooza in the U.S. Despite his widespread success, McCann still finds time to perform every two months at the renowned Fabric in his hometown of London. His debut album Everybody's Talking, Nobody's Listening was released on 4 May 2009 on Caspa's own label Sub Soldiers/Fabric Records and included an appearance from legendary reggae figure Sir David 'Ram Jam' Rodigan. [6]
In August 2012, it was announced that Caspa and various notable electronic music producers would be featured on the Halo 4 remix album. [7]

In 2014, McCann moved to Denver, Colorado, US. He cites Denver's music culture and friendly people as influential factors, although he is unsure whether the move will be permanent. [8]

Dubstep is a genre of electronic dance music that originated in South London in the early 2000s. It is generally characterised by sparse, syncopated rhythmic patterns with prominent sub-bass frequencies. The style emerged as an offshoot of UK garage, drawing on a lineage of related styles such as 2-step and dub reggae, as well as jungle, broken beat, and grime. In the United Kingdom, the origins of the genre can be traced back to the growth of the Jamaican sound system party scene in the early 1980s.
From November 2001 to November 2018, the London nightclub fabric ran a monthly mix compilation series. Mixed by a variety of emerging and established DJs, the two series were entitled fabric and FABRICLIVE respectively. The compilation mixes were released independently by fabric on an alternating monthly basis.

Sub Focus is the debut album by British drum and bass producer Sub Focus. It was released on 12 October 2009 through RAM Records. "Rock It / Follow the Light" managed to break into the top 40 of the UK Singles Chart. Two later singles, "Could This Be Real" and "Splash", both fell just below, peaking at number 41. The album charted at number 51 on the UK Albums Chart.

The single peaked at number five on the UK Singles Chart, tying with "Count On Me" as their highest-charting single to date. The chorus of the song also features vocals performed by Yolanda Quartey. and samples from 'Let The Music Take Control ' by Joey Negro and the Sunshine Band. "Blind Faith" is featured on the soundtrack of the racing video games Dirt 3 and Forza Horizon. The song was used by BBC Sport during its coverage of the 2013 World Athletics Championships.

Some of his songs, including "Sweet Shop", "Tetris", "Big Boss", "Watch Out" and the remixes of Example's "Last Ones Standing" and Plan B's "Love Goes Down" have all received more than 5 million views on YouTube. He is the co-founder of Circus Records, along with Flux Pavilion, DJ Swan-E and Earl Falconer.
Martin Knowles, better known by his stage name Emalkay, is an English dubstep producer and DJ from Birmingham. He is best known for his 2009 single "When I Look at You", described by Clash as a "monster", which was released on Caspa's Dub Police label. Emalkay released his debut album, Eclipse, in May 2011. Knowles describes his sound as '[...] a mixture of the usual dubstep tropes coupled with what I imagine Sean Pertwee's face sounds like when he is making all those terrible, grimacing expressions in the film Dog Soldiers.'
Blow Your Head: Diplo Presents Dubstep is a DJ mix compilation album by American dubstep musician Diplo. It was released on November 2, 2010 on Diplo's own label Mad Decent in the United States, and the following year as an import in the United Kingdom. It features multiple artists performing alongside Diplo, including Rusko, Benga, Zomby, Joker & Ginz, and James Blake, on some of the tracks.
William Brown, better known as Compa is a British electronic musician and DJ from Clitheroe, Lancashire, who began releasing music in 2011. Compa first rose to prominence following his self-released remix of Mavado's Dem A Talk in 2012, followed by his signing to Mala's label Deep Medi Musik the same year, although he did not release his debut record for the label until 2013. In a review of the record, Boomkat described Compa as "Keeper of Dubstep's Darkest Light"
