Catherine Meyburgh is a South African film editor, filmmaker, artist and project designer. [1]
She started her career as a film editor in 1983 mainly focusing documentaries. [2] She has served as an editor in over 30 documentaries which have been telecast on Arte, Channel 4, BBC and NBC. She worked as a film editor in animated films of prominent contemporary artist William Kentridge in 1990's. As a project designer in theatre and opera, she has worked with fellow prominent artists including Leora Farber, Georgia Papageorge and Willem Boshoff. Her project design have been displayed in various international exhibitions held in New York, Paris. [3] She also initiated a project titled The Head & the Load collaborating with fellow artists William Kentridge, Philip Miller and Thuthuka Sibisi. [4]
Her directorial Kentridge & Dumas in Conversation is based on the real stories of contemporary artists William Kentridge and Marlene Dumas. [5] The film reveals two of them involve in discussion regarding drawing, painting and filmmaking. [6]
She co-directed, co-produced and edited the film Dying for Gold with Namibian filmmaker Richard Pakleppa which depicts the untold real story about the mining in South Africa. [7] [8] The film describes the difficulties faced by miners when they involve in search for gold. [9]

Alban Maria Johannes Berg was an Austrian composer of the Second Viennese School. His compositional style combined Romantic lyricism with the twelve-tone technique. Wozzeck is the first opera by the Austrian composer Alban Berg. Composed between 1914 and 1922, it premiered in 1925. It is based on the drama Woyzeck, which German playwright Georg Büchner left incomplete at his death. Berg attended the first production in Vienna of Büchner's play on 5 May 1914, and knew at once that he wanted to base an opera on it. From the fragments of unordered scenes left by Büchner, Berg selected 15 to form a compact structure of three acts with five scenes each. He adapted the libretto himself, retaining "the essential character of the play, with its many short scenes, its abrupt and sometimes brutal language, and its stark, if haunted, realism..."
Woyzeck is a stage play written by Georg Büchner. Büchner wrote the play between July and October 1836, yet left it incomplete at his death in February 1837. The play first appeared in 1877 in a heavily edited version by Karl Emil Franzos, and was first performed at the Residence Theatre in Munich on 8 November 1913.
Bonginkosi Dlamini, popularly known as Zola 7, is a South African kwaito musician, actor, writer, TV presenter, and poet. Dlamini began his career as an actor, achieving national recognition for the television series, "Yizo Yizo". He also starred in the Academy Award winning film Tsotsi in 2005, for which he also wrote the musical score.
Patrice Chéreau was a French opera and theatre director, filmmaker, actor and producer. In France he is best known for his work for the theatre, internationally for his films La Reine Margot and Intimacy, and for his staging of the Jahrhundertring, the centenary Ring cycle at the Bayreuth Festival in 1976. Winner of almost twenty movie awards, including the Cannes Jury Prize and the Golden Berlin Bear, Chéreau served as president of the jury at the 2003 Cannes festival.

William Kentridge is a South African artist best known for his prints, drawings, and animated films, especially noted for a sequence of hand-drawn animated films he produced during the 1990s. The latter are constructed by filming a drawing, making erasures and changes, and filming it again. He continues this process meticulously, giving each change to the drawing a quarter of a second to two seconds' screen time. A single drawing will be altered and filmed this way until the end of a scene. These palimpsest-like drawings are later displayed along with the films as finished pieces of art.
Sir Sydney Woolf Kentridge SCOB is a South African-born lawyer, judge and member of the Bar of England and Wales. He practised law in South Africa and the United Kingdom from the 1940s until his retirement in 2013. In South Africa he played a leading role in a number of the most significant political trials in the apartheid-era, including the Treason Trial of Nelson Mandela and the 1978 inquest into the death of Steve Biko. Kentridge's wife, Felicia Kentridge, was also a leading anti-apartheid lawyer.

Menzi Ngubane was a South African actor, best known for playing the role of Sibusiso Dlomo in the soap opera Generations from 2003 to 2014. Ngubane played numerous roles on other South African TV shows, including Yizo Yizo, Ashes to Ashes, Gold Diggers, and Heist. In 2016, he joined the cast of the television drama series Isibaya, playing a taxi firm manager with a dubious past.
Philip Miller is a South African composer and sound artist based in Cape Town. His work is multi-faceted, often developing from collaborative projects in theatre, film, video and sound installations.

Dying for Gold is a 2018 South African trilingual documentary film written and directed by duo Richard Pakleppa and Catherine Meyburgh. The film is produced under the production banner Breathe Films and the film was predominantly shot in Lesotho. The plot of the film depicts the untold real story about the mining in South Africa especially portrays the dying of gold miners due to silicosis and tuberculosis in South Africa, Mozambique, Lesotho and Malawi. The film had its theatrical release on 16 October 2018 and received positive reviews from the critics. The film was also screened in Mozambique and Botswana. It was also screened at the Johannesburg Film Festival on 15 November 2018.
