Cats in Space (styled CATS in SPACE - The Band) [1] [2] is a British rock band formed in Horsham, West Sussex in 2015 by guitarist Greg Hart and drummer Steevi Bacon. Following the band's inception, vocalist Paul Manzi, keyboardist Andy Stewart, bassist Jeff Brown, and second guitarist Dean Howard were recruited to complete the official lineup. In mid-2019, vocalist Paul Manzi announced he would leave the band to join The Sweet after the first half of ‘The Narnia Tour.’ Soon after Manzi’s departure from the band, Mark Pascall joined the band as their new lead vocalist. After the tour, the band parted ways with Pascall. He was then replaced by Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds stage show vocalist, Damien Edwards. [3]
Cats in Space began to work on their debut album Too Many Gods. [4] The recording sessions had guest vocal appearances by both key songwriter Greg Hart's fellow co-writer Mick Wilson of 10cc, as well as a guitar/vocal session by Andy Scott of The Sweet.
The band released their first single from the album on 24 August 2015 via YouTube, named "Mr. Heartache". [5]
Cats in Space announced their second album, the follow-up to critically acclaimed debut album Too Many Gods, [6] titled Scarecrow, with an official release date of 25 August 2017.
Track two, "The Mad Hatter's Tea Party" (which the band had previously showcased on the 2017 Thunder support tour) was released on 21 July 2017, as a music promo on YouTube, [7] both albums were then announced as digitally available in their entirety on all the reputable digital media platform outlets.
Cats in Space made their debut appearance at London's The Half Moon, [8] Putney SW15, on Wednesday 6 January 2016. They made subsequent appearances leading them to accept their fourth show at the Stone Free Festival on Sunday 19 June 2016. [9] [10]
Their fifth performance was at The Ramblin' Man Fair, [11] on the new Rising Stage [12] at Mote Park, Maidstone, Kent on 24 July 2016. The line up featured many classic rock bands including Whitesnake, Europe, Thin Lizzy, Thunder, Airbourne and Black Stone Cherry. [13]
Thunder UK TourMarch 2017
December 2016, UK rock band Thunder announced that a studio album entitled Rip It Up would be released on 10 February 2017. This would also coincide with a number of live dates. Cats in Space was confirmed on 23 January 2017 as the official UK tour support. [14] [15]
British Summer Time (BST) Hyde Park, London, UK
Monday 27 March, Cats in Space were added to the Phil Collins BST Hyde Park concert line-up. The concert took place on Friday 30 June 2017. [16] [17]
Fairport Cropredy Convention 2017
12 August 2017, the band played a one-hour set to an over 20,000 plus capacity at the Fairport's Cropredy Convention [18] in Oxfordshire.

An announcement was made onstage on the final night of the Scarecrow headline tour, that Cats in Space had been added to the whole UK leg of the Deep Purple 2017 arena tour [19] along with Europe.

Fairport Convention are an English folk rock band, formed in 1967 by guitarists Richard Thompson and Simon Nicol, bassist Ashley Hutchings and drummer Shaun Frater. They started out influenced by American folk rock, with a set list dominated by Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell songs and a sound that earned them the nickname "the British Jefferson Airplane". Vocalists Judy Dyble and Iain Matthews joined them before the recording of their self-titled debut in 1968; afterwards, Dyble was replaced by Sandy Denny, with Matthews later leaving during the recording of their third album.
"Tie Your Mother Down" is a song by the British rock band Queen, written by lead guitarist Brian May. It is the opening track and the second single from their 1976 album A Day at the Races. On its original release as a single in 1977 the song peaked at 31 in the UK Singles Chart. More than 20 years later, it was released as a double a-side to "No-One but You " where it reached 13 in UK Singles Chart. On the album the song is preceded by a one-minute instrumental intro featuring a Shepard tone melody, performed by Brian May, which is reprised in the ending of "Teo Torriatte": this was intended to create a "circle" within the album.
Thunder are an English hard rock band from London. Formed in 1989, the group was founded by former Terraplane members Danny Bowes, Luke Morley and Gary "Harry" James (drums), along with second guitarist and keyboardist Ben Matthews and bassist Mark "Snake" Luckhurst. Originally signed to EMI Records in the UK, the band released their debut album Backstreet Symphony in 1990, which reached number 21 on the UK Albums Chart and number 114 on the US Billboard 200. The 1992 follow-up Laughing on Judgement Day reached number 2, while both albums were certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). All nine singles released from the two albums reached the UK Singles Chart top 40.
SPAN is a Norwegian rock band that formed in 2000 from the remnants of two other outfits, Explicit Lyrics and Squid. Self-proclaimed as "Norwegian Turbo-Rock 'n' Roll Commandos", the band was made up of Jarle Bernhoft on lead vocals and guitar, Fridtjof Nilsen on guitar and backing vocals, Vemund Stavnes on bass and Fredrik Wallumrød on drums and backing vocals. When Stavnes left in 2003, he was replaced by Kim Nordbæk.

The album was released on 24 August 1992 by EMI Records in Europe and Japan, and by Geffen Records in the United States.
Beckett were an English hard rock band formed in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1970. The band released one self-titled album in 1974 and disbanded shortly thereafter. Recorded in late 2014 at Rockfield Studios in Monmouth, Wales, it was produced by the band's lead guitarist Luke Morley and released internationally by earMusic in February 2015. Wonder Days was the first Thunder studio album to be released since Bang! in 2008, as well as the band's first release on earMusic with whom they signed after returning from their second breakup in 2014.

Steevi Bacon is a musician from London, UK. He is co-founder member and drummer for the UK based power pop rock band Cats in Space, established May 2015 with guitarist Greg Hart, and their fellow songwriting partner Mick Wilson of British 70s phenomenon 10cc.
Paul Manzi is an English singer, best known as a member of The Sweet, Cats in Space and Arena, and for performing with the likes of Ian Paice, Gordon Giltrap and Oliver Wakeman.
