The Cayman Islands FA Cup is the top knockout tournament of the Cayman Islands football. [1] The cup was first known as the Schlitz Beer Cup and was donated by Jacques Scott. It was retired by Saprissa FC, the title holders from 1972 to 1974, and was renamed as the CIFA FA Cup. [2]

Association football – commonly known as football – is a popular sport in Cayman Islands. The Cayman Islands Football Association – the territory's football governing body – organizes the Men's and Women's national teams and administers the territory's professional league the Cayman Islands League. As members of Caribbean Football Union teams are eligible for the Caribbean Club Championship and the territory's membership in CONCACAF allows teams to participate in that organizations club and national team competitions. The Cayman Islands are also a member of FIFA and is therefore eligible to play in the World Cup.

The 2015–16 Cayman Islands Premier League season was the 37th season of top-tier football in the Cayman Islands. It began on 18 October 2015 and will end on 29 May 2016. Scholars International were the defending champions, having won their 9th title last season. Scholars International won their 10th title this season.

The 2016–17 Cayman Islands Premier League season is the 38th season of top-tier football in the Cayman Islands. It began on 2 October 2016. Scholars International were the defending champions, having won their 10th title last season.

The 2020–21 Cayman Islands Premier League was the 42nd season of the Cayman Islands Premier League, the top division football competition in the Cayman Islands. The season began on 25 September 2020 and concluded on 28 February 2021. Bodden Town were the defending champions from the previous season. Following the previous season, two teams, Alliance FC and North Side SC were relegated to the First Division, reducing the number of teams in the league to ten. On 13 February, Scholars clinched the league championship, their 13th title.
