Chagari Praveen Kumar is an Indian Judge. Presently,he is Judge of Andhra Pradesh High Court. He has served as the Acting Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court. [1]
Justice Chagari Praveen Kumar was born on 26 February 1961. He passed B.Sc.,L.L.B. He was enrolled as an Advocate on 28 February 1986. He practiced in the Andhra Pradesh High Court (now High Court of Telangana) in criminal and constitutional matters for over 25 years. He was appointed an Additional Judge of the Telangana High Court on June 29,2012. He was appointed a Permanent Judge of the Telangana High Court on December 4,2013. He chose Andhra Pradesh High Court after bifurcation of High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad into Andhra Pradesh High Court and Telangana High Court. He was appointed acting Chief Justice of newly formed Andhra Pradesh High Court [2] on 1 January 2019.
The High Courts of India are the highest courts of appellate jurisdiction in each state and union territory of India. However,a high court exercises its original civil and criminal jurisdiction only if the subordinate courts are not authorized by law to try such matters for lack of pecuniary,territorial jurisdiction. High courts may also enjoy original jurisdiction in certain matters,if so designated specially by the constitution,a state or union law.
The Telangana High Court is the High Court for the Indian state of Telangana. Founded by the 7th Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan,initially,it was set up as High Court of Hyderabad for the then Princely State of Hyderabad Deccan and later renamed High Court of Andhra Pradesh,as it was set up on 5 November 1956 under the States Reorganisation Act,1956.The Andhra Pradesh High Court was renamed as High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad in view of the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh state.

Telangana Lokayukta is the parliamentary ombudsman formed by the erstwhile of Andhra Pradesh under the Andhra Pradesh Lokayukta and Upa-Lokayuktas Act,83 and adapted by Telangana after getting bifurcated from Andhra Pradesh. The mission of the Institution of Lokayukta is to eradicate the evil of corruption,favouritism,abuse of position and Power among the public functionaries and improve efficiency and to create cleaner image of the top public functionaries and promote fairness and honesty.
