Hickory is a city in North Carolina primarily located in Catawba County. It is the 25th most populous city in North Carolina, with its formal boundaries extending into Burke and Caldwell counties. It is located approximately 60 miles (97 km) northwest of Charlotte. Hickory's population in the 2022 United States Census Bureau estimate was 44,084. Hickory is the main city of the Hickory–Lenoir–Morganton Metropolitan Statistical Area, which had a population of 368,347 in the 2022 census.
Rockland Community College (RCC) is a public community college in the town of Ramapo, New York in Rockland County. It is part of the State University of New York. The college, established in 1959, became the 18th community college to join the SUNY system. The college offers 51 programs and offers associate degrees and certificates. Additionally, students can earn other degrees, including Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, and Master of Arts in the arts and sciences, Doctoral Program in Executive Leadership (EdD), technology, and health professions while attending classes at Rockland through articulation programs with four-year schools. The current enrollment is 6,859 students.

The college also operates a Cosmetology Center in downtown Newton, the CVCC Alexander Center for Education in Taylorsville, and East Campus, where continuing education and business & industry services are provided. Specialty programs include the Manufacturing Solutions Center, where US manufacturers are provided assistance to increase sales, improve quality and improve efficiency. A 28,000-square-foot (2,600 m2) Regional Simulated Hospital, ValleySim Hospital, opened in 2011. CVCC now has two furniture academies, one in Newton, North Carolina, and one in Taylorsville, North Carolina.

It awards certificates, diplomas, and associate degrees in more than 50 programs. As a member of the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement (CAA), between the North Carolina Community College System and the University of North Carolina (UNC) System, credits earned at DCCC transfer to the university system. Mascoma Valley Regional High School (MVRHS) is a public secondary school in Canaan, New Hampshire. Surrounding towns that attend MVRHS are Grafton, Enfield, Orange, and Dorchester. The facility, opened in 1963, is located on Royal Road, off of U.S. Route 4. It is adjacent to the Indian River School, which houses grades five through eight. The school colors are Purple and Gold; the mascot is a panther and teams are known as “The Royals.”
