The 2019 Alberta general election was held on April 16, 2019, to elect 87 members to the 30th Alberta Legislature. In its first general election contest, the Jason Kenney-led United Conservative Party (UCP) won 54.88% of the popular vote and 63 seats, defeating incumbent Premier Rachel Notley. The governing Alberta New Democratic Party (NDP) were reduced to 24 seats and formed the Official Opposition. The United Conservative Party was formed in 2017 from a merger of the Progressive Conservative Party and the Wildrose Party after the NDP's victory in the 2015 election ended nearly 44 years of Progressive Conservative rule.

Douglas Edward Schweitzer is a Canadian lawyer and politician who was elected in the 2019 Alberta general election to represent the electoral district of Calgary-Elbow in the 30th Alberta Legislature. He is a member of the United Conservative Party. On April 30, 2019, he was appointed to be the Ministry of Justice and Solicitor General of Alberta in the Executive Council of Alberta, and held that role until August 25, 2020 when he was shuffled to the new ministry of Jobs, Economy and Innovation. After announcing his intention not to run for re-election in May 2023, Schweitzer resigned as Minister of Jobs, Economy and Innovation and announced he would be resigning his seat in the Legislative Assembly of Alberta on August 5, 2022. Schweitzer ran unsuccessfully for the 2017 United Conservative Party leadership election. He was born in Kelowna, British Columbia. On September 7, 2022, Schweitzer announced he had joined Deloitte as a senior advisor. In the 2023 Alberta general election, his former seat was taken by Samir Kayande from the NDP. The first time the party had won Calgary Elbow.

Peter Singh is a Canadian politician who was elected in the 2019 Alberta general election to represent the electoral district of Calgary-East in the 30th Alberta Legislature as a member of the United Conservative Party (UCP). Singh was re-elected in the 2023 Alberta general election.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2023 Alberta general election</span> Provincial election in Canada

The 2023 Alberta general election was held on May 29, 2023. Voters elected the members of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta. Election dates are fixed under Alberta's Election Act but that does not affect the powers of the lieutenant governor of Alberta to specify a different day in accordance with provisions in the aforementioned act, the Constitution of Canada and the usual conventions of the Westminster parliamentary system.

This is a list of electoral district results for the 2023 Alberta general election. The United Conservative Party under Premier Danielle Smith was re-elected to government with a reduced majority.
