Charles W. Robinson (born 1946) was the state treasurer of Arkansas from 2013 to 2015. He was appointed on May 29, 2013, by Democratic Governor Mike Beebe after the resignation of former treasurer Martha Shoffner a week earlier on charges of corruption. Robinson served the remainder of Shoffner's term and was not eligible to run for election to the office in 2014. [2] Dennis Milligan succeeded Robinson as state treasurer, effective January 13, 2015.

Robinson is originally from Harrison, Arkansas, and has an accounting degree from Arkansas Tech University in Russellville and an MBA from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He had been a state employee for thirty-four years in the Division of Legislative Audit, including twenty-eight years as the legislative auditor, from which he retired in 2007. [2] Robinson lives in North Little Rock, Arkansas. [1]

On November 4, 2014, Republican Dennis Milligan won a general election contest against Democrat Karen Garcia and Libertarian Chris Hayes; Milligan succeeded Robinson as state treasurer on January 13, 2015.

Arkansas's 2006 state elections were held November 7, 2006. Primaries were held May 23 and runoffs, if necessary, were held June 13. 2010 Arkansas gubernatorial election

The 2010 Arkansas gubernatorial election took place on Tuesday, November 2, 2010. Incumbent Democratic Governor Mike Beebe ran for re-election, and faced former State Senator Jim Keet, whom he defeated in a landslide to win a second and final term as governor. Beebe's vote percentage was the highest of any Democratic gubernatorial candidate in the country that year. As of 2020, this is the most recent time in which a Democrat won a statewide race in Arkansas. It was also the last time a Democrat swept every county in Arkansas, despite the year being called a Republican midterm wave year.

Primary elections were held on May 20, 2014 for offices that need to nominate candidates. Primary runoffs, necessary if no candidate wins a majority of the vote, were held on June 10, 2014.

The 2016 presidential campaign of Mike Huckabee, the 44th Governor of Arkansas, began on May 5, 2015 at an event in his hometown of Hope, Arkansas. Huckabee's candidacy for the Republican nomination in the 2016 Presidential election was his second, after having previously run in 2008. Following a disappointing showing in the Iowa caucuses, Huckabee ended his run on February 1, 2016.

2018 Arkansas elections

A general election was held in the U.S. state of Arkansas on November 6, 2018. All of Arkansas' executive officers were up for election as well as all of Arkansas' four seats in the United States House of Representatives. Primaries were held on May 22, 2018. Polls were open from 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM CST. Republicans retained of all statewide offices and all four seats in the United States House of Representatives.
