Charlie Richard Hemphrey (born 31 August 1989) is an English cricketer. [1] He has played professional cricket in England, [1] Australia, [1] [2] and Wales. [3] Hemphrey was born in Doncaster,Yorkshire, [1] [4] but grew up in Kent and was educated at the Harvey Grammar School,Folkestone. [1] [5] [6]
After playing in second teams for English county cricket clubs Kent,Essex,and Derbyshire, [7] [2] Hemphrey emigrated to Brisbane,working briefly for an airline [7] [2] before signing for Queensland cricket team. He made his List A debut for Queensland on 9 October 2015 in the 2015–16 Matador BBQs One-Day Cup in Australia. [8]
In January 2019,he was signed by Glamorgan County Cricket Club, [7] ahead of the 2019 County Championship in England, [3] before returning home permanently in early 2020.
Hemphrey has since gained residency in Australia,putting doubt on his cricketing career in England due to a three-year qualification period set by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). [9] Hemphrey was released by Glamorgan ahead of the 2021 County Championship. [10]

The eighteen county cricket teams were split into three regional groups of six,with the two group winners with the most points advancing to a final held at Lord's. The maximum number of overs bowled in a day was reduced from 96 to 90,and the team's first innings could be no longer than 120 overs.
