Chattogram Railway Station is a railway station in Bangladesh, situated at Battoli, Station Road of Chattogram District. It is one of the largest railway stations of the country. This station has an old and a new terminal.

Old terminal

The old terminal was constructed during the British era. It comprises a two-storied 56.24 m long and 10.37 m wide station building, which was constructed on November 7, 1896. [1]

New terminal

In 1991, construction of a new terminal and modernization of Chittagong Railway Station started and the new terminal was opened in 1995. In 2015, remodeling of Chittagong Railway Station started and Platform no-8,9 was introduced for the first time. [2] A new terminal was constructed beside the old terminal.

Shah Amanat International Airport, Chattogram is an international airport serving Bangladesh's southeastern port city of Chattogram. Operated and maintained by the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh, it is the second-largest international airport in Bangladesh after Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is used by the Bangladesh Air Force as a part of 'BAF Zahurul Haq Base'. It was formerly known as MA Hannan International Airport, named after Awami League politician M. A. After providing service for a long periods of time most of these locomotives are no longer in service. Only the serial number 2025 loco is active now.

The 2021 Chattogram City Corporation election was a local government election in the city of Chattogram, Bangladesh, held on 27 January 2021 to elect the Mayor of Chittagong and the Chittagong City Council. This election was marred by violence and it was not seen as a free, fair and credible election. Later in 2024, after ruling Awami League regime fell, vote rigging by Awami League was confirmed in this election.

Maitri Setu is a 1.9-kilometre (1.2 mi) bridge on Feni River which links Sabroom in Tripura, India and Ramgarh in Chittagong, Bangladesh leading to Chittagong port, thus providing a shorter and more economical alternate land route between India's eastern and western states compared to the longer route through Assam. On 9 March 2021, it was officially opened to public by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Nasir Uddin Khan is a Bangladeshi actor. He is known for portraying Alen Shwapon in the television series Syndicate. He also acted in Mohanagar and Taqdeer. He won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the film Poran (2022).
