Chayanika Chowdhury (born 1 December) [1] is a Bangladeshi television drama director. She has been directing television dramas since 2001, and as of September 2017, she has directed 347 dramas. [2]
Chowdhury graduated from Chhayanaut Sangeet Biddayatan for Rabindra Sangeet and then went to Santiniketan. [3]
Chowdhury debuted directing television dramas in 2001 with the drama Shesh Belay. [2] She got her breakthrough through the drama titled Ek Jiboney aired on 28 October 2002. [4] [2]
Chowdhury's 50th directorial work was Maya, the 100th was Choloman Chhobi in 2010, the 200th was Juari in 2013 and the 300th was Sona'r Manush in 2016. [4] [5] [6] [7]
Chowdhury published her first book Mayaghar in 2014. [8]
In 2019 Chayanika Chowdhury started directing a film Bishwoshundori starring Siam Ahmed and Pori Moni.
Chowdhury is married to Arun Chowdhury, a writer and journalist since 1990. [9] [10] They have a daughter Anulekha. [3] Her sister Tamalika Karmakar is a film and television actress. [9]

Bangladesh Television, commonly known by its acronym BTV, is the state-owned television network of Bangladesh. The network was originally established as the East Pakistan branch of PTV in 1964. It is the oldest Bengali-language television network in the world, and is the sister to the radio broadcaster Bangladesh Betar, which, along with BTV, are both owned and operated by the government.
Abdullah Al Mamun was a Bangladeshi playwright, actor, and filmmaker. He earned the Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1978 and the Ekushey Padak in 2000 from the Government of Bangladesh. As a filmmaker, he won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Director twice for the direction of the films Ekhoni Somoy (1980) and Dui Jibon (1988).
