Chegoggin is a community in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, located in the Yarmouth Municipal District in Yarmouth County.
In 2000, Swedish archaeologist Mats Larsson of Lund University put forward a claim that Chegoggin is his prime candidate for the location of Leif Erikson's Vinland. Having explored up and down the coasts of Atlantic Canada, Larsson believes that Chegoggin best fits the description of Vinland as given in the Norse sagas. [1]
The Mariners Centre is a multi-purpose and double ice surface arena in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada. It officially opened on November 28, 2001 and the building size is 65,000 square feet (6,000 m2). It is home to the Yarmouth Mariners of the Maritime Junior Hockey League. The facility hosted the 2005 Fred Page Cup and hosted the New York Islanders training camp in September, 2005 and the Islanders returned for their training camp in 2006 with their new head coach, Ted Nolan. The Mariners Centre hosted the World Junior A Challenge in November 2012 and 2013.

It is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and is the biggest of a group of five islands which extend north for 12 kilometres (7.5 mi). It is the second southernmost point of land of Nova Scotia. The southern tip of nearby Cape Sable Island is 250 metres (820 ft) farther south than the southern tip of land on Seal Island.

The Raid on Yarmouth took place on 5 December 1775 during the American Revolutionary War.
