The Chesapeake Tide were a former professional Indoor Football team based in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. The team began play in 2007 as an expansion team in the Continental Indoor Football League. The founding owner of the Tide was Martin Johnson. The Tide played its home games at The Show Place Arena. Midway through the 2008 season the team was acquired by Messay Hailermariam. Hailermariam folded the team at the end of the season and founded the Maryland Maniacs. Despite playing in the same arena with the same head coach, the Maniacs were not a continuation of the Tide.

The Tide won the final game of their existence, on the road, against the New Jersey Revolution. The team was led by 7 touchdown passes from quarterback Joe Urso, and running back - wide receiver Darryl Overton's four scores (three receiving, one rushing), wide receiver's Daryl Disbrow Jr. and Ray McCarter were also recipients of Urso's touchdown passes.

The West Michigan ThunderHawks were an indoor football team based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The team was most recently a member of the Indoor Football League. From their inception in 2007 until 2009, the ThunderHawks were known as the Muskegon Thunder and played at L.C. Walker Arena. In 2010, the team moved to Grand Rapids, MI. This is where the downfall of the team took place. The season started off hopeful with a 5–2 record. After week 7 the players were promised money at a later date as long as they played. Starting in 2010 the ThunderHawks played their home games at the DeltaPlex Arena, in nearby Walker, Michigan. The Thunderhawks did not field a team in 2011.

The Maryland Maniacs were a professional Indoor Football team based in College Park, Maryland, and a member of the Indoor Football League. The team began play in 2009 as an expansion team in the Indoor Football League. The Maniacs were the second indoor football team to be based in Maryland, following the Chesapeake Tide of the Continental Indoor Football League, who played in the same market. The owner of the Maniacs was Messay Hailemariam. The Maniacs played their home games at Cole Field House. Inaugural season home games were held at The Show Place Arena. They left the Indoor Football League in 2011, and have been with American Indoor Football ever since.

Barry Wagner is a former American football player in the Arena Football League (AFL) for the Orlando Predators, with whom he won his first ArenaBowl Championship, and the San Jose SaberCats, with whom he won two championships. He also played in the World Indoor Football League (WIFL) as a wide receiver/defensive back with the Daytona Beach Thunder. Wagner is the all-time AFL all-purpose yardage leader. Joseph David Urso is an American football quarterback who has played professional arena football/indoor football in three leagues; as well as brief stints in the National Football League with the New York Giants and Seattle Seahawks after coming out of college as an undrafted free agent. He played college football at Lycoming College, and then transferred to Wilkes University. He currently plays for the Arbutus Thundercats in the MIFL.

Mike Anthony Tatum is an American football coach who is the head coach and offensive coordinator for the Omaha Beef of the National Arena League (NAL). He is former indoor American football wide receiver for the Nebraska Danger, Bismarck Bucks and the Sioux Falls Storm of the Indoor Football League (IFL). He played college football at Oxnard College. He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Marion Mayhem in 2009. He played with the Mayhem until their disbanding during the 2010 season. Tatum then finished the 2010 season with the Fort Wayne FireHawks. Tatum then returned to Marion in 2011, when a new franchise called the Marion Blue Racers expanded into the CIFL. Tatum has also played for the Everett Raptors of the IFL.

The 2014 Green Bay Blizzard season was the team's twelfth season as a professional indoor football franchise and fifth in the Indoor Football League (IFL). One of nine teams competing in the IFL for the 2014 season, the Green Bay Blizzard were members of the United Conference. The team played their home games at the Resch Center in the Green Bay suburb of Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin.
